Seriously guys? You post sizes like that on Zilvia and don't expect a sh*&storm?

I'm in for a set of 17x9" or 17x9.5" 531s, preferably in 5x120 but I could always redrill a 5x114 set. Would make for nice looking wheel for the daily driver.

Phosho

Just wanted to PS some of the new XXRs. Don't know who's car this is, but I like the setup. Looks clean, simple, and good for the daily. So, I shopped some 531s to give me an idea. Thinking I want to do a similar setup on my hatch.

I'll be ordering a set of the 16x8 Chromium black. They will go on my Gvr4. Hopefully it doesn't have the orange peeled chrome lip and will have the polished lip.

I love XXR's . My 527's have the exact look I was looking for at a bargain price.

Could I spend $2000 on a set of Works? Sure. But I don't really need that extra few pounds of weight savings nor the strength of forged wheels. I'm not a hardcore racer. I'm so terrible at driving that I can't even bend a stock steel wheel, so I think the cast knockoffs will be just fine.

Tell me again why someone like me should spend more money?

There's a lot more to it than just price of the wheel. But that's a whole other discussion. You'll enjoy your XXR's and I'll enjoy my RAYS.

Because a real company spent a lot of time and money properly designing a wheel just do another "company" can make a half ass knockoff. Fuck fake parts and the companies that make them.

Can you accurately quantify "half ass"? I'm still not seeing a valid argument here.

There isnt.

The argument is that cheaper companies just copy the product.
The reality is that they dont steal any R&D, otherwise there wouldn't be the difference in quality.

Companies make a extremely similar style and I see nothing wrong with that.
Especially since everyone complaining always forgets the companies they think are getting knocked off copied other companies.
How many BBS rims look jsut like inkies from the past.
Did greddy really invent the blow off valve?
Did Powered by Max really invent the coil over?

Of course not, they took existing tecnologies and designs and copied them.

Dont know why people into imports are such pussies.
I dont see American Muscle owners complaining about American Racing rims...
I think its just maturity. Eventually when people grow up, they realize they just want some fun rims and want to put thier money into other things and spread it more.

Think I may get some more XXR's this week and sell my Works.
(I was thinking that before I logged on.)

That's a lame ass way of looking at it. I'd say, those companies put in time (i.e. money) and engineering expertise to make a product better. Making our cars better, faster, and last longer. If a company invests money in a new product and get no return because it's ripped off, they go out of business. then the XXR's of the world have nothing to rip off then we have nothing. good job.

dont like em, dont buy em... Id like to know what business you are in, that no one copies and reproduces identical products.... last i checked, every single business, in the world, at some point in time, copies, or models after another company, to make a profit.

The world changes, so the business must as well.

NLmotoring, any news on when the wheels are getting shipped?

That's not the point.

Honestly, threads like this will always be a never ending debate.

One side will defend companies like XXR, Rota, etc. & the other side will always defend "legit/real" companies

Truth is there is no such thing as originality. However, "legit/real" companies have been developing products that improve motor sports which is what you're paying for.

So please, if you like cheaper wheels/products, get them but don't be offended when people talk shit about your choice. If you don't like cheaper wheels, make a snide comment and be on your way. You can't save them all.

But that does nothing for the assholes driving the companies that put in the effort out of business. That's why there are copyright laws and such. Sometimes voting with your wallet only goes so far.

This thread is dedicated to the new release of the XXR branded rims. Not a debate on affordible aftermarket options, versus expensive aftermarket options.

can we all agree on that, stop wasting server space, and put this debate to an end in this thread?

^Exactly.

I dont know coil over companies, and could give a flying fuck.
I got godspeed on my car, and have drifted the track 2 times in 2 years.
So why would I spend a large sum of money on coil overs?
It makes no sense, lol

So its the same with rims for me.

Now If i was competing several times a year, and had a car worth more then $1,500, then i could see spending some real money.

But Im gonna take the money I save when I buy some XXR's for my weekend toy, and go sky diving, buy a ticket to australia or thialand and buy another moped to have some fun with

Are these out yet??

I wouldn't even be able to enjoy my car if I was riding on Godspeed and XXRs. Just like how Heinz Ketchup needs to be applied to my fries, not that Walmart brand garbage.

So you buy Sam's Cola? Walmart Jeans? TJMax T-shirts? Drive a Daewoo? Do you prefer the taste of Natty-Light? What about Target Brand Cereal?

Would you think I'm pimp if I spent $100 on a Chinese Rolex from eBay? Do you like "Tribute Bands" better than the real thing?

My problem with XXR and other crap wheels is the wheels themselves. You can clearly tell they are inferior. The finish sucks, the offsets and sizes suck, the are not really 2-3 piece wheels and have fake plastic rivets/bolts.

Why waste money posing? If I want ugly crappy offset wheels I'll rock some Mustang rims. At least then you are only shelling out $100 on Craigslist for 4 + tires.

Then why are you on a car forum? Go join the "whatever is more important" forum.

You are hysterical, you'll be in the Fashion thread posting your overpriced street wear crap, but then praise the "Walmart" brand car parts and talk about "fiscal responsibility".

Im sorry, I guess I should put a car as my top priority??
cause using it at the track twice in two years doesnt seem like a priority.

Its a hobby i have fun with.
Something you refuse to get, cause then all your shit talking is irrelevant.
But your argument is irrelevant anyways.
Under your belief system, you should only have the most expensive and best of everything.
You really must make millions then....

grow up dude.

what street wear crap btw ??

and why would not wanting to sink every penny i have into my car exclude me from being on a car forum??

Only if you want everything. Some people prefer fewer, nice things. As for the wheels the topic is supposed to be about, call me unimpressed. Either more of the same or ugly. Why bother?
