This was my setup from a while back and rubbing was minimal. As in, it would only rub on the inside at full lock and on the front fender at full compression (high speed race track cornering)
And alignment specs for reference front camber -2* caster 6* rear toe 0 rear camber -1.5* rear toe 0 Roll/pull is very light. Once the car is back on the road I have plans for 255/40/17s on same spec wheels. |

Here is my rear wheel setup, still gotta work on the fronts. 18x9.5 +15 255/35 michelin pilot sports, gotta roll my fenders cause they are rubbing, didn't think I would of had to, especially the rears. And I'm not even that low. Has anyone had any problems with fender rolling cracking paint? http:// |

That's a nice pull... is that purely fender roller work?

Because it should be a 30 series sidewall not a 35, at least on a 19" tire.

question... i went through the thread and i'm wondering if i'll be able to run 17x9.75 +25 with 245's up front. At the moment i'm on spring/strut combo but will be getting coils in a month or two.
i'm sure i'll have slight rubbing issues, but will i be able to clear tokico struts for the time being?

I dont have experience with spring/strut but at 17x9+22 I had about 1mm of clearance between the wheel lip and the spring perch on my coilovers. Your tire would probably clear but you'd need something like an extended lower bracket to clear the wheel/strut contact.

So, I just picked up a s13 coupe and I'm nervous about ordering tires, and I've looked through this thread quite a bit but I'm overwhelmed. The wheel and tire combo I've picked out are:
17x9 +25 front/back front tire: 245-40-17 rear tire: 275-40-17 Currently on stock suspension, but I'm planning on ordering Megan or the equivelent CO's almost immediately. Looking through this thread, I may need some small spacers for the front, possibly 5mm or so to clear CO's? I understand I'll need to roll my fenders, but will they give me a giant F-U if I put these sizes on? Any help is appreciated, the wheel/tires on the car are shot and I can't have fun with the car until I replace them as they don't hold air. Thanks! |

That would be easy enough to fit with a roll, youll get some rubbing but shouldnt be anything too bad. If the front is rubbing on the inside you can use some washers on the lugs and test fit then measure the washer stack to see what size spacer you would need. My guess would be less than 5mm but it'll all depend on your suspension/alignment setup.

Thank you Tred!
I have the same sizes and wondered how much of a tire I could fit. Do you have any pics of fender and wheel , how much they stick out? |

Alright guys, I'm running 17 X 8 G35 wheels and I'm trying to find the best tire for the rears. I want Maximum rubber since I'm putting down around 400hp, but I don't want to lose handling because of excessive side wall. Any recommendations? I've been through this thread, but haven't really seen what I'm looking for.
Eventually I probably pick up some 18 x 10's with 275's or so, but I still need to save for a while. Stock specs: Rear Size: 17x8.0 Offset: +33mm Weight: Tire: 235/50/17

Run a 235-40-17 not a 235-50. Star Spec, RS-3 or NT05 are all good choices. Still not enough tire for 400hp, but thats the best you're going to get on a 17x8. If you really want you can try and wrap a 245-40 on it.

I installed a pair of 285/35/18s on 18x8s. It was a pain in the ass, and it looked like sweat dripping off a ballsack, but it can be done.

245 for sure, and a half inch outside the XS spec would allow you a 255. I generally consider it plenty safe to push the manufacturers specs out .5" The notion of 'Excessive side wall' is bullshit. If you go to a wider tire (within manufacturers spec for wheel width) you will get more traction. I suggest saving your money for the 18x10s now, and just go get some used 245 or 255s tires to keep you going for $25. Of course an 18x11 will fit stock R&P sheet metal, but they aren't easy to find without a phat bankroll.

Gjohnson you need to buy wider wheels, Enkei RPF1 17x10 and 275s would be my suggestion (or at least 17x9). Although, I am presuming that you want some level of grip...if you like not having grip then run 235s or 245s and let it be.
I haven't posted pics in this thread of my car but plan to soon. New 275/40/17 NT05s get mounted today. Azenis 255 fronts. S13 hatch with stretched/pulled stock fenders, Super 7 pro coilovers and lots of other suspension mods. |

I don't have any recent pics after paint, but as you can see from my primered pic below, I'm already prepping the ride for bigger wheels. Just gonna take some time savings money with a wife, 3 kids, mortgage and all that other good stuff wheels aren't to high on the overall priority list.

Oh, as a side note. My buddy has a set of wheels in his garage I thinking about buying that are from his friends G35. They are an old set of Volk GT-C's 19 x 9 front 19 x 10.5 rear, but my friend keeps telling me their too big for a S14. I think the 19's on a S14 look clean, but the tires will be coin.
