we have a hell of a time keeping our sponsored satin white car clean, but it is a cool look. i think where i went wrong was doing it single-stage to save $. next time i plan to do a regular base with a flat clear, might help to not let grease soak in i hope

just depends what you want i guess. i think flat metallics look pretty sick i must say

Anyone have any pictures of Grabber Blue on anything?

Only other car I've seen it on was the FC on this forum.

Maybe an Audi Nimbus Grey? A similar paint was posted on this thread before by someone else. Page 66

If this car was ever daily'ed that would be a different story. If you hadn't noticed there are no plates on the ride, that's because the only street action this gets is in the back of a trailor. If you ever saw the "parts" and not the exterior that gets changed once a month... You'd retract your statement.

No I wouldn't. It would look better with no hood and no bumper than the way it sits in those pics.

The only excuse a drift car has for looking shitty is if those are spare body panels and you threw them on between rounds.

Paint thread?

Hopeful that grey paint example helped a little. It does look pretty good, but I'll bet it looks even better in person as do most paints due to lens weaknesses in cameras. I was seriously contemplating this hue of grey as well. We'll see...

that same grey has been posted like a ton of times, so far ive found that audi, ferrari, GM & scion have similar versions. google them bad boys up or cruise to a paint store they would get both samples and price for you.

lexus starfire white pearl w/ghost blue flake

the mini oxygen blue, good color for a drift car since its got no pearl or metallic. the rear of the car was resprayed the day before this picture

does one have to take off the rear hatch on an s13 to paint the hatch jams near the roof?

its about to go to the painters and i don't know if i want this to be done cause if they put it on all fucked up then the trunk will close like shit and the roof will leak from where the hinges go

I did and it made it soooo much easier, granted I painted it myself, but still its much easier to get to the harnesses, and the hinges. My car is a FL car and still had surface rust on the hinges and rust where the hinge meets the shell. So I took the hinges of the hatch and repainted them.

If you do take it out its got seam sealer all around the brackets and as a thread sealant on the hinge bolts themselves. So for a leak free installation you need to install the hatch "wet" with seam sealer on the threads and mating surfaces, loosely attach the nuts to the hinges on the inside, align it and bolt it down. Then come back and seam seal around the hinge/shell joint.

Trying to figure out a red. My S13 is gonna be finished with the Type-X soon, and I want a red red; not an orangy red. Would anyone know the color code to this:

If not, how do you guys think Imola Red would look on an S13 with Type-X aero?

Or, can anyone think of another red? Thanks you!

if you're trying to get into small hard to reach areas then media blasting is the best way to do it...but it's messy you'll have blasting media all over the place. either that or chemically strip with something like aircraft remover.
