2nd time, car was very clean and nice, no decals or loud exhaust. I was speeding around a corner, and got pulled over. and got my hood popped. Ref ticket.

RX7 I got pulled over once, blasting down a freeway on-ramp. Got let go and no thoughts of popping my hood.

When your car is clean, solid one color, matching wheels, no super loud exhaust, front license plate (I like front plates, i dont think they look bad) you won't get much trouble. If you have stupid blast pipes, decals all over your windows, mismatch wheels , crap hanging from your tow hooks etc, than you will get attention. Race still plays a big issue too.
Sorry. Race might play a role if its some douche cop but ive only been given tickets by white cops and im white...lol

But i have never gotten a ticket in my s14 its always been my bmw, saturn, jetta, altima.

And all my tickets have been minor things, but its because im the type of a person that will go to the next exit if i miss mine instead of trying to cut over 4 lanes to get off the highway. Or ill drive a few blocks to make a legal u turn etc.

You guys can get 11 tickets and have a licence?

In NH they have a habitual law. 2nd offense goes to losing your licence. And driving on suspended licences is automatic 1 year jail.... Your laws seem different.

We also have SRT-8's. The local PD has a mustang, and a few other oddballs. Kind of cool.

No lie, I got tickets at least once every 4 months when I had a Mustang. Since I've sold it, and have owned only Nissan's for going on, about 3 years now, I haven't been pulled over once. Well actually I got pulled for a headlight out in my D21 about a year ago. I've had my S14 since March, and it has been crazy low and had a considerably louder than stock exhaust on it since April. Haven't been hassled yet.

I would chalk most of this up to maturity level though honestly. That, and Idk if anyone else in VA has noticed this...but there seem to be A LOT less state troopers on the road over the past year or so.

Marauders aren't s/c. And for a department to spend money on 1) a marauder vs. an interceptor is wasted money. Basically same car.

The gov't doesn't boost factory n/a cars for police use..................

LOL, you sound like one of the local country bumpkin honda ricers that swear city cop crown vics must be turboed because their cars are so much faster than a d series. Pretty common knowledge in this case that those cars are v6's and the highway patrol cars/ some county sheriffs are v8. Cop cars don't need to have power, they aren't trying to out accelerate anyone.

michigan... I drive a haggard looking x8 cressida with a bunch of rust, no rear bumper, spraypaint, blast pipes, perpetually bald tires / belts showing, too much camber, too low, no cats, burns oil.

when it was stock-ish exhaust, never got pulled over. took the car off the road for a while, did rear arms, lowered it, cut the muffler that was on there off because it sat underneath the subframe and would have dragged once I got the car back together.

with 2.25" straight pipe, cut off just before the rear subframe, I got pulled over the night I got the car back together. I was running the japanese cresta center section between the rear tails, and moved the plate way down to the bottom of the rear panel and bent it up... didn't get around to moving the lights to illuminate it, though. so I got pulled over for "loud exhaust, no rear bumper, no plate lights, and a stupid custom plate that takes forever to run". let off with a warning.

after my birthday at the beginning of september, I took way too long to make it to the secretary of state to renew my license and registration. got pulled over the other day for expired tags and ridiculously loud exhaust (I replaced the 2.25" straight pipe that cut out under the car with 3" piping to ISIS blast pipes, and it honestly got a little louder), and my license was expired as well. warning for the other stuff, written for expired tags, which is a $125 civil infraction that carries no points. fixed that the next day, hopefully I can get it reduced or thrown out.

never had the car searched though, knock on wood.

Eh, people so often get this confused. People hear marauders have "cobra motors" which is wrong, and assume it is supercharged. Marauders have automatic mach1 motors with less power, lower redline, and no forged internals.

There has never been a v6 Crown Vic Interceptor...ever. Every police/rpo Vic and charger is a v8, if not every single one, then I would say easily 98% of them. The only police vehicles I've ever seen with something other than a v8 have been small trucks and suvs used for animal control. And one Ecoboost f150 that I got to drive last week, and that bitch would scoot.

This is no exaggeration, I've had 8-9 encounters with the police in the past month. I try to answer every question straight forward, and I think that's why they always let me go.

2 days ago, I was heading over to a friends house over at midnight. I was at the light, no one around, so I gun it in 1st and 2nd. I pull over in front of my friends house seconds later, and a cop pulls up behind me out of nowhere. He gets out, tells me he gunned me going 55 in a 25, asks for my license , registration, and...cannabis card (he got a whif of it when i rolled the window down). He searches my car, throws out all my bud, tears up everything. At this point, I'm ready to be taken in for DUI or given a bunch of tickets. All he says "Get your head out of your ass" and he leaves. Fucking sweet.

And that's only 1 of the encounters.

ESCORT SOLO S2 CORDLESS RADAR DETECTOR WS* 737795000006 | eBay

http://i.ebayimg.com/t/ESCORT-SOLO-S...m3Q~~60_57.JPG

This Escort Solo II Radar detector got me out of a ticket the very first day that I got it and has been saving me ever since. Was going through historic ellicot city and it went off before I even turned the corner where a cop was hiding. I pick up speeding cameras and red light cameras with it too.

Haven't had a single speeding ticket yet, just a few warnings and a ticket I got off free on for a one tire fire I did in my parents' minivan when I was 16.... Probably also helps that my 240 was white and pretty stock looking besides the wheels and low. The exhaust definitely wasn't quiet but I usually look before I screw around

There is also a newer model than this as I understand, so I'm sure it works even better. I've had experience with a few other units that really didn't seem to do much in other friends' cars also

Hate to break it to you, but twice I jobshadowed city cops, once in middle school, once in high school. Went on patrol with both of them and got to check out the cars. Both were crown vics, and both were v6ers. The sheriff that lived across the street from me, on the other hand, had the v8. Honestly though, BFD, we're talking about a damn 2v 4.6. Not exactly a powerhouse in a heavy sedan.

The difference is those exotic cars suspensions are DESIGNED to be that low and therefore function 10x better than any over lowered s chassis shit bucket.

And usually you have to speed to open a wastegate. So that answers that.

the problem with radar detectors now is that most cops (in cali and bigger cities) use laser which is more accurate than radar. these detectors will detect laser but once it goes off the cop already clocked you.

your point is?..... if you drop any car correctly, isnt the suspension designed to function better lowered?

Keyword correctly. How many of these cars posted are dropped correctly? None. I guarantee all of those control arms are facing UP on some below $1000 shitty coil overs. Add in 20 year old bushings on most of the suspension.

Edit-There's alot more to it than just lowering. At least high end exotics spend years in R&D for their suspension.

There hasn't been a V6 engine a Crown Vic since 1992. Hell doing research I don't think there has ever been a V6 in a Vic.

The only vehicles I know that have come with V6's and that I have driven are the chargers and the Impala that I currently drive.

Also, check your state laws. Radar detectors might be illegal.

Hate to break it to you, but you are wrong. There has never been a v6 crown Victoria. Unless you saw some crazy ass v6 swapped crown vic, you are wrong, lying, or saw wrong. Google is your friend. Maybe you were in a Taurus or something. But the Crown Vic has never been anything other than a rear drive v8 land yacht.

I recently got pulled over by CHP.

I usually drive my car like a granny but I was in a rush to get home..

CHP asked for my license and let me go after peeking into my interior..(clean)

this was like 1:00AM too.. I guess I got lucky :P

3 main things that give it away are 1. Ride height 2. Exhaust 3. Any different colored bulbs or headlights (hids). If you got any or all of the above you will get pulled over sooner or later.

Got pulled over yesterday for ride height and hids. In some states like Texas headlight beams must be 24" or higher off the ground. The state trooper
Measured it and everything and said to adjust the suspension and nice ride then handed my ticket.
