i can put dura ace octalink cranks on a 1975 schwinn varsity and does that make it a good bike?...no. it'll have nice cranks though  there is a more noticeable difference in frame and fork geomtry.... so i still stand firm with my opinion*. it's whatever man, just buy what you want and ride what you want. i'm not going to argue on zilvia about track bikes lmao. |

I rocked on for a week or two as a backup/trick bike. You can also order it with a front brake. As for size, height isn't important, inseam is. Some bikes are measured center to center, while others are measured center to top tube; a majority of bikes are measured center to top tube. If the frame is measured center to center, multiply it by .65 to figure out your best sized frame. If it's measured from center to top tube (most common) multiply it by .67 to try and figure out your frame size. Multiply your inseam in cm and multiply it by .65 or .67 (INSEAM x .65/.67 = rough size for frame). And then there is the whole which crank/stem lengths. Those are best figured out by tooling around with different ones.

I thought about getting one of these as well about a year ago for exercise, but then I realize every kid at the nearby highschool has one.I guess saying you can drive yourself to school isnt cool anymore. Hands down though, some of those Fixie Fairies Haul ass. The bikes arent cheap either I talked to someone who had one at the local meets and he was had like $1800 into his bike and that was cheap to him.

There are frames that sell for over a thousand.
Most of the real expensive stuff is from race companies and are all NJS(race organisation approved) stamped.

NJS is the statndard for parts in japanese keirin. Not all "great" parts are NJS certified. NJS just means that all the same flavor of parts bearing that stamp are equal to each other. Japanese keirin is huge because of the betting, so having everyone using "equal" parts is important. |

yes
FLIP FLOP rear hub. Fixed and freewheel sides. If you want to ride on the road, just flip the rear wheel around and add your own single speed freewheel and brakes to the frame. We highly recommend the installation of front and rear brakes if you decide to convert your track bike to street use. |
