Do I need a short stubby screw driver to take it off because it's held by two Phillips. There are some wires and stuff kind of in the way I'm not too sure on how to approach this :/

Move what you need to and do it right, you'll only break things if you half-ass it. It only takes few minutes.

Yes, you'll need a tool set.

Alright guys what I've done so far is, take out the fuel pump fuse cranked it about 3 times for about 5 seconds each no start at all. And disconnected the fuel injectors and carefully moved the harness to the side to expose what I think is the fpr

So if I'm correct all I have to do is unscrew these little screws and basically pop in a new one?

I also have to only disconnect the two black fuel hoses correct? Is there any other way to make sure there isn't fuel pressure any more before the unclamp the clamp?

the large hose is fuel, the small hose is vacuum.

just unclamp the stupid thing. its not going to blow up in your face. it may spray or leak out a little fuel and thats it.

One is a fuel line, one is a vacuum. I'm a fan of pulling the fuel pump fuse while engine is running and letting it stall to verify all fuel pressure is gone. Cranking a few times should be good too.

The rubber hose (small one) on the left is a vacuum line, probably going to your intake mani. The clamped hose (big one) is the fuel line.

Yes, take those two screws off, pop the rubber hoses off, and reinstall a new FPR. Make sure your new FPR has an o-ring, and it wouldn't hurt to lube the o-ring with vaseline before inserting the FPR into the rail.

Once you halfass get most of the fuel presure out of the system, you're fine to remove a fuel line. A bit might squirt out, but it's not going to blow up like the movies.

So my fuse it out and I did crank it as stated above, no start. So if I'm reading correctly I should be able to just pull the line correct? Also should I disconnect the battery? Lol that shit scares me

Yeah, just pull the hose. You'll be fine. Some fuel will dribble out, but nothing to worry about. Disconnecting the battery isn't necessary for this, but it's never a bad idea when working on a car.

Small Questions Thread (SEARCH FIRST! Use this instead of making NEW threads)

I think the fuel rail must come off now, unless there is a smaller screw driver I could get my hands on. To remove the rail I only have to unscrew these two bolts right?

Good luck with that, those fpr screws are usually pretty tight.

^ Yup, those screws are on tight and iirc they're JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) not regular 'murican phillips, which is why they're tough to remove without stripping.

I've found that the best way to reliably get them off without stripping the head is to use an electric impact.

Probably best to go ahead and remove the fuel rail so you can get a good angle on them. As others have said, they're usually pretty tight and you need to press down hard to get them out without stripping.

I'll give it a quick shot, but if that doesn't work. To take off the fuel rail is it only the two bolts that I posted above?

You could also try a Phillips head bit with a 1/4" or 7mm socket and 1/4" drive rachet, if you really don't want to remove the rail that is. Idk man, this is some pretty simple shit, good luck

Eh, I guess we're in a good mood. My eyes are rolling every time this comes up in my notifications, like: "really man, you can't figure out 2 screws? If you're that scared, it's perfectly okay to admit that and pay a mechanic to do it for you, it's literally their job." But then I remember we were all confused by simple sh!t at one point in our lives and figure I can toss the guy a bone.

at least the guy was posting GOOD pictures of what was going on... and not all of us are total dicks! i at least make it a point to HELP people instead of making them feel stupid for asking simple questions. that is actually part of the problem with the 240sx scene now, people are just fucktards in how they act toward others. ive been building these shit boxes for 15 years now, and believe it or not, theres still stuff i dont know (mainly internal engine stuff since ive never built a motor). but yeah, whats the point in making a n00b feel like shit for just asking for help with something hes never done before?

its just flat out shitty karma to make someone feel horrible for asking for help... especially when theyre ACTUALLY TRYING! so yeah, id rather help someone and let them learn something along the way instead of acting like 90% of the community now-a-days and talk shit... shit talking gets old honestly. the 240sx scene use to actually HELP one another on a regular basis buuuuuuuuut now that the stigma of "make someone feel like an ass for being a n00b" has become so prolific in our scene and has ran rampant for almost a decade now, i feel bad for anyone coming into building 240s.

I'm amazed at the age it shows under your name, combined with the response that came from your username.

I don't deny that giving people shit is a gratuitous situation. However if there's someone that's currently offering a viable support line, there really is no reason to be a piece of shit and add to the negativity. Tossing the guy a bone is the least you can do for him, helping him would be a start.

Obviously someone has offered to help this gentleman, no need for you to come in now and act like an ass. I don't care what you think your excuse is. See below.

As stated, as answered. Just stop trying to play cool guy, this is small questions, the entire reason for this shit. Stop trying to be top dog.

Don't stop asking questions buddy. Everyone is trying to be a keyboard hero, including the jerk-offs here. I've learned from the military the only bad question is one not asked. Keep on keepin on.

Just de-pressurize the fuel rail, and remove the FPR. It's not that huge of a deal.

Adjustable FPR, i was wondering does the length of fuel tubing effect the fuel pressure at all. I've done some searching and some people have the FPR close to the rail and some "not so close" any insight would be greatly appreciated.
