I run 255 on a 9.5 +38 (s14 subframe so +33 effectively) and it's very close in the back. Despite the pic making it look like it has positive camber, i run about -1.5 in back. |

I am still looking into which 275 or 265 tire would be best for my 500 WHP LS3 setup. Do you have a picture of how much clearance you have between hard parts (rim to shock, etc) in the fenderwell? Doesn't seem like I can run a 275 up front so I can rotate tires. What wheel size/offset do you have up front? Have any clearance issues with hard parts during turning lock to lock when susp is compressed? I know tire to harness clearance may be an issue. |

Anyone encounter understeer with 265/40/17 up front?? I going to do 255/40/17 up front and 275/40/17 in back. Current setup is 235/40/17 up front and 255/40/17 in rear no pull or roll fims are 17x9 +22
Id like to run 265 up front

On an s13 I presume? What kind of driving do you do? You really can't say that a certain width up front will automatically cause understeer. If you keep tire widths within 20-30mm front to rear, then you shouldn't have any understeer unless you have huge disparities in swaybar size/ stiffness or spring rates. |

I have 275/40/17 17x9.5 +38 rear with a roll and pull and they don't rub on the fender or inner fender well, but depending on the ride height and alignment I have had the rub on both the inner and outer fender well. It is not an easy fit, and Nitto NT05s run small.
Basically I am buying time until I can go +30mm widebody then switch to 17x10 +18 rear but I am at max tire right now for my fenders |

To your point, it's surprising how Mustang guys rush to spend 500 bucks on a lightweight driveline but roll with wheels that weigh a ton.
For my car I have observed that weight reduction $ have been worth it, as I can perceive a good amount of performance improvements with better weight balancing and less overall weight. I haven't run Cobra wheels and RPF1s back to back on my car to gauge the seat of the pants difference but 32 pounds of rotating mass for both back wheels has to amount to a material difference... |

17x9 +22 in front with 255.
I don't have clearance pics in the back -- but I know it doesn't rub anything, besides the fender if there isn't enough camber or if the car is too low. |

^ two local guys (one s13, one s14) are running 17x9.5 +15 battles with 235/40s. you could probably fit a 245 under there, or even a 255, depending how much you pull the fenders and/or camber in. for easier fitment of max rubber (i.e. 255/40s with little/no camber) you'll want a higher offset wheel, closer to +20ish.

How much camber are you running f/r? Im looking to run the same tire setup, if anything run 255 up front instead.

^ unfortunately, those tires are "max" in the wrong dimension, haha. like i said, 225/50, go. it still won't really qualify for this thread, but it'll be a hell of a lot more fun to drive (with the shorter effective gearing) and look way less like Grave Digger.
