So Nissan is creating 2 cars that are 40k+ that can battle Porsche?

So what are they going to do when a 370z can out perform a GTR just by turboing it? Who will pay the extra 70k for a GTR when it's basically impossible to mod?

no kidding right

i know personally im dying for a daily driver that is 4 cyl, rwd, turbo and i will barely touch...oh and that is 100% SMOG LEGAL!!!!

when that new S chassis hits in 2010...i know i wont be doing a whole lot to the car until its completely paid off...but it will be awesome to buy it brand new, take care of it and baby it and know that no one else has ever beat the mess outta the car

building old s chassis is fun and all...but theyre honestly getting TOO old and turning into more of a "restoration project" than an actual "race car" when you build them...i know my current S13 is prolly the LAST s chassis im going to build for a VERY long time simply because id love something newer and a bit more up to date as far as electronics, stock engine management and chassis age go

buy a 2010 370z for 40k after taxes and fees and bs.... then spend another 20k to make it turbo and perform as good if not slightly better than the GTR....

then spend another 20k in the life of the loan on the car or 5 years, replacing blocks and rear ends and replacing other shit that is no longer warrantied because of engine modification.

at that point your already spending about 80k and thats about what the GTR has been selling in San Diego.

with that school of thought, why would people have bought corvettes, when they could easily mod a camaro or trans am?

corvette sales sure didnt suffer!

exactly, though GM did under rate the camaro engine by just enough to make the corvette look better

Eh. My arguement fails, I was under the impression GTRs were 100k+

I will admit defeat. I just want to find a nice rwd vehicle for 30k or less brand new.

well it does depend on where you buy it, initially though the upsell on the GT-R was 60-70k thus selling for 140-150k, but i was at Mossy Nissan in Poway CA and they just sold a black/black GT-R for 83k

Stay tuned. The whole reason the Z is being moved up market is to make more room for the new SX.

Just looking at how things should work out now, the SX will probably start around $20k for a base 4 cyl, probably no-turbo, stripped version. I'm expecting the same type of trim levels on the SX that are available on the Z. So say for a Grand Touring turbo model to have LSD, Nav, etc and top out in the low $30's. Like $31/$32 max. Any more then that and it'll be too big for it's britches.

Me personally I'd be HAPPY as penis in vagina with a Enthusiast Turbo model, with ONLY LSD and Brembo's (if they are availible), for $25. That is my sweet spot.

It's supposed to keep your testicles comfortable when you're driving.

The passenger seat doesn't have any because women (and only women) should be riding shotgun in this car.

This is man's car!

Meh... Ill stick to my old plan of picking up a Z33 with brembos and 6MT and just add on suspension, exhaust, navi, and some nice ass wheels and call it a day for daily driving. This new thing just looks weird from the outside. The inside is nicer than Z33s by far though.
