I know, but my local auto parts store has Black RTV Silicone and if that would do just as good of a job, I figured I might as well get it. It's cheaper and readily available. So will it do the same job?

It would seal, but you'd end up using a lot more than you think. If you are going to use a sillicone, I'd suggest going to home depot and getting a sillicone-II based tube and us a caulk gun to put it on.

...or just get that tape from the parts store...wait a day or 2 for it to come in, and then do it right. It's not like it didn't just start leaking yesteday, so you can go another day or 2.

Won't effect anything, as it was there OEM.

Stock side feed is the only option you have. Any other combination will not work.

What tape? I thought butyl rubber was a synthetic rubber that came in a tube as well?

So my friend gave me a brand new turbo for free... I remember looking it up through this number he gave me and finding out it was some kind of GT35... Now that I have the turbo in my possession, I can't seem to find any info on it.... Maybe someone can help me out. I'm pretty sure its some kind of turbo diesel turbo....

Here is some info on it...

Garrett...

Compressor housing:
-M12
-A/R .60
- 1-1

Turbine Housing:
-A/R .84
-M3
-077
-H2

S/N: DHM23562
P/N: GA466229900X

It has an internal wastegate and the turbine outlet is 6 bolts... And I believe it is T4.

Could be because of the light.

Or, it could also be a Japan only color because it seems like the original picture you posted is a front clip with a Japanese bumper.

Fuel pump question

I replaced my S14 fuel pump today with a Walbro 255, it came with the S13 sock, that little one.

I couldnt get ahold of a prelude or S14 sock today and had to put the pump in with that sock so I can get to work tomorrow.

Is this REALLY that bad? I'm not tracking the car and I always fill up before I get to 1/4 tank. Shit I usually fill up at half a tank. It's been a peeve of mine for awhile haha.

I'm not feeling unscrewing that PITA cap again...fuck that took forever. haha

I tried searching for for japan color codes but I saw the list of colors and I think it had all the ones I already saw , but I could be wrong and it might be the lighting,

For an engine that has unknown mileage... yes, yes that is normal.
For an engine that has 40k miles? probably not

That said, I don't know if I'd do it again, some of those spot welds are a SERIOUS bitch. I did the battery tray too. The metal up front is so thin it's stupid too. I should have just cut it all out and called it a day.

I pulled the intake manifold off my SR yesterday and found an engineering nightmare of coolant lines underneath. Anyone have any advice on simplifying this shit? Any coolant line re-routing threads?

I won't have a heater, but it's stock turbo so I need to retain some of those lines.

Hey guys I'm looking for some feedback here. Im in the market for some new wheels. Im a big fan of wide 5 spoke wheels with a lip which immediately drew me toward the XXr 962.

I REALLY like the look of that wheel but, I hate the offsets and well...it's an XXR. Any feedback would be appreciated. It's either new wheels or powdercoat my 5-lug SE wheels. Thanks!

BTW: this is for a S14 Zenki.

Can someone plz answer my question!!!

A headgasket blew and had a water/oil mix issue. Got a new OEM headgasket, got the heads rebuilt and resurfaced, bolted down w/arp head studs. I still have a water/oil mix issue. Now to the question:

Is this happening because I didn't resurface the block since its also aluminum and possibly warped?
Or is this a result of a cracked water jacket? Iwant to know so I simply wont buy another used block for nothing.

Did you clean the surfaces? Did you clean the block out? Did you flush the coolant system? How is compression? How is leak down? etc etc.

If anything, run straight water through the car to flush the system as best as possible...that stuff is nasty once it's in the setup.
