not much update! talked to my machinist and went over few stuff on whats going to be done to block. head and crank. im not used to having someone do the work for me but machining is abit much too to get into...lol

anyways.....spent my thursday and rest of fridays electroplating tons of oem nuts, bolts, brackets.

im using a caswell copy cad

this my 1st electroplating and im very pleased how they came out!

1st thing i do with the nuts and bolt are bead blast em with either aluminum oxide or glass bead. i degreased em using caswell sp degreaser powder mixed with distilled water and heat up to 140-160f then soak 5-10mins. then they go on acid bath till the fizzing stops.

heres some nuts and bolts soaking on distilled water before plating to prevent rust flash.

my setup. using an ebay 10amp max rectifier adjustable.

the bath! where magic happens! lol

you get a bright zinc finish. still need to dip em on either yellow iridescent or black chromate(which im going to nxt day off)

finally got the block, head and crank frm the machine shop! they charged me 382.

hottanked, magnafluxed, decked and bored out .020over

resurfaced, pressure tested, hotanked, exhaust guides, valve seats grinded

polished only

decided to ruan aem fuelrail. has 11mm holes for injectors

went ahead and bought me an ATI super damper frm summit

got to file fit the top rings @ .018 although, i wanted the bottom ring to be at .020 well that isnt the case. unfiled 3 of the rings had ring gap of .022 & one was right fileable. any thoughts why this would be? could wiseco sent me the wrong rings???or my machinist bored it out too much but i doubt it. i moved the rings around to see if they made any difference but it was the same 3 rings @ .022 and 1 @ tight cant remember exactly.

Really great work you're doing my dude, I love seeing a KA-T done right!

P.S. you have alotta potential man, so did you have any mechanical experience before this or did the S13 force it? You gotta try to get in a shop if you already don't work at one.

Great stuff man keep it up you will go places. I took autoshop in highschool too, my dad had a bunch of mud trucks growing up we always worked on as well. I only worked in junkyards and a shop that installed stereos, systems, big rims and lift kits. Hopefully after my KA-T build I can use it as a driving billboard of my work and get in a performance shop. Anyway you're doing it right man you get props bro!

Damn, it's looking so nice. The yellow chromate really pops against that flat black, why did you decide to stick with stock valve train with such great machine work?
