Oh i thought you were referring to where the brackets mounted to the block. I haven't heard anything about the actual mounting bolts on the mounts being offset...that's a new one. Are those mounts side specific?

im not sure. they are identical, so id assume you can swap the between right side and left. im gonna wait till i have the sway bar removed and re-test fitment before I jump to conclusions.

Anymore fitment issues? Did you ever figure out the mounts?

I had to take swaybar out, cut the spare stud off the mounts and both aim them the same direction. And everything works fine. More than likely now seeing how much room i have, will go straight through mounts. should push motor back toward firewall 1/2''. the trans mount is slotted and has room to go back

Do you have a dyno graph of your setup? Curious to see what the power band looks like, my RB makes simular power.

Love how clean that motor is, going to be so nice not having a greasy old thing in the bay. Are you worried at all about how low the pan sits? Not sure how low you run your car but if its very low I'd be worried about that, especially since you cant replace it easily like on an sr or a ka.

This was the old dyno 2 years ago on a 70mm:

This was going down to a 62mm billet:

made a little better peak, but died off up top.

The Pan is off a IS300, we are going to swap it out to the lower profile aristo pan, and raise the motor mounts back up to 2.500". Right now it is at 2.250"

once a sway bar is on, it should "protect" the pan

Yeah, the same OCD (being in quality) helped determine the Zerolift mounts are NOT that great. Was definitely a disappointment.

Yes

Havent had much time to spend on the car making exhuast, intercooler, radiator fab, or anything else due to the fact of spending the past 4 days On trying to fix these Zerolift brackets. IMO these swap brackets are garbage for the money you spend on them. In the supra world, our brackets fit dead nuts, no bullshit, and I make solid motor mounts for the supras, Im a vendor over on supramania.

Trying to fight the engine from being crooked, not level, and rotation, has left me to making custom one off mounts which is a huge annoyance. I will make a new thread to show you all my troubles and my findings later.

Subscribed! Doing a 1jz swap as well, just going with a conservative single and standalone! Your build looks awesome! Keep it up man

Great work man! I have a 1jz in my S13. I'm outta Tucson and would say we should meet up when this gets done, but I'm stationed in Korea right now. Either way man, good luck on finishing the build. Also, I haven't heard of anyone fitting the stock sway bar on with a JZ without spacers. Sikky makes a sway bar for LS swaps and fits around the JZ pan as well, might be worth looking into.

Havent done much since the whole Zerolift bracket issue. But some small stuff has gotten done:

Trimmed bumper to allow Intercooler to sit forward/upright. also cut out the excess frame overhang to allow routing of the Intercooler. Then mounted the bottom with some brackets I made.

Also Started Radiator mock up. Trying to get Supra radiator with OEM shroud and clutch fan to work first before trying to get anything else to work. We have a set of ford contour fans too but I feel its the same thickness as clutch fan.

Just need a GE fan blade, that should pull rhe fan blade closer to the upper radiator pipe.

Here is the thread I made regarding the swap brackets for anyone interested. There was still some small things that I left out, but you get the idea.

Got A little more done:

Got a GE fan blade on, looks like its gonna work out nicely.

Also got the cold side Intercooler piping all tacked up 1-piece and fits beautifully.

and BOV tacked:

Todays goals are to finish the hotside intercooler, and tack back up the hood latch sheet metal to the intercooler for added bracing, and of course for the hood and headlights to bolt back on.

Thanks, yeah its pretty much what we were gonna go for. Its the same radiator/shroud/fan setup on my supra, so it shoudnt have any cooling issues. plus there is room in the shroud to add the two OEM electric fans to turn on when the A/C gets turned on to help with dissipation.

Again,

as expected from a machinist, the Mechanical fan is a huge advantage over e-fans. good job so far keep up the good work!
