What exactly is the car doing? Does it drive perfectly good until positive pressure starts showing in the boost gauge? Or is it only at higher psi? When boost doesn't "kick in", does it only feel sluggish, or does it sputter?
Thanks for the response..

I didn't drive it back i trailered it, it was boosting fine directly after the tune. I didnt even really drive the car. I didn't do any work in the engine bay at all. when i drive it, it feels like an all motor car. no sluggish ness at all or anything just 0 boost... any thoughts? The BOV was wide open at idle, so i made a block off plate and tried to test that.. still the same... all piping looks good, the wastegate is secure. i am not sure whats going on.

Hey guys!! the thread from the dead..

If anyone is still following this..

I just pulled my car out of storage since last may. I fixed the boost leak, car is running 100% and i literally just put the mirrors and other misc. painted parts on today. I have found some new motivation and i am so excited to start driving this car again. I should have it on the road in a few weeks.

*** I am having the normal brake light short issue.. fuse keeps blowing im 99% sure i found the issue which is 2 torn wires in the hatch opening, but this is to the 3rd brake light, Im waiting to see if the fuse blows like it has been after a bit of time. Once i button that up, ill just need to put the bumpers on and other small misc stuff but its road ready !

Thank you, Honestly some of that work was when i was a little kid and i used a mig welder i could never dial in properly (lack of knowledge)

I can't wait to start a new project and really do everything with the knowledge i have now.

Whats to come next..

Gonna get it registered, put the bumpers and the wing on. Im 99% sure that i fixed the taillight issue (torn wires in the hatch going to the 3rd brake light) so once thats squared away ill be able to put some miles on the car.

In the next few months...
I am going to try and get up to clubloose north (NH) and get some seat time on the track sliding this thing.

To come is definitely a 5 lug swap, bigger brakes (z32?)?? and replacing my racelands with some fortune auto coilovers. Once i cover the suspension and brakes, maybe that will involve some new 5 lug wheels and this car will be in such a good place.. updates to follow soon!

Thanks for reading!

Damn, i remember reading this thread a couple of years back. It's pretty cool to literally be able to see how much you've grown, learned, and how much effort you have put in to this car. With all of your set backs, down time due to paint and engine building/tuning, etc, how many miles do you think you have actually driven this since you first bought it? Keep up the awesome work!

I appreciate the kind words..

I've literally probably driven this car less than 50 miles. i went to school with it once back in high school (5 mile round trip) and i went for an alignment 2 towns over (20 miles or so) and then quick rides here and there. Finally i can start driving this thing.

Tomorrow i am installing a new coolant temp sensor because i've been having a shitty problem.. i will pull up to a red light get ready to stop and the car will stall out and it wont start for 5-10 minutes, its literally stranded. then boom i crank and it fires right up, perfect.

if anyone has any advice here, i'm listening. I have good fuel pressure, the motor cranks strong, but doesn't start. my first step is replacing this sensor.

I would start there, if it still continues I'd check to see if the coils are overheating.

Got the new coolant temp sensor in there today, drove the car and had no problems. did a little donuts got the car hot, and it stalled when i came to a stop. My next step is the coilpack, i found some on enjuku "p2n" $140 for all 4. i would love to hear some reviews on these before i buy them, its those or the yellow jackets.

**temp gauge reads very very low when driving today, is that related to the 1 prong plug?

Upon lots of reflection, although most probably wont see this, I really appreciate all the guys who gave such honest and truthful feedback back in the day. I wish I had the awareness to listen to you guys and buy better parts. You guys were all right... haha.

Although, i didnt really ever drive this car much anyway, and I definitely regret selling it. I just recently got back into the car game with a super clean 95 e36 m3, and it's made me realize just how much i miss that car. Live and learn! Some day I'll have a nice shop at my house and take on another 240 build for sure, with much higher quality parts, and craftsmanship.

If anything, this car was a major teacher in my life and I am very grateful for all that I learned.
