That diff picture reminded me. Anyone have a 4.3xx final drive installed with a stock KA. Any before and after feedback for drifting/autoX/ or time attack. Thinking of manning up to a real diff this summer along with a 4.3 drive.

why 4.3 gear? unless your motor can rev to 9,000 rpm, you'll run out of gears real quick. not to mention 4,000 rpm for driving 70mph in 5th gear.

I just got my 4.375 in yesterday. Wont be going in for a few months. But I wont be putting it in unless I can get my hands on a ECU. Did some calculations and with the S14's limiter ~6400, putting in the 4.375 and moving the limiter to 7000 would net = MPH as oppose to the Factory 4.083 @ 6400.

I'll also be putting in S13 cams and a N60 so its not falling on its face after 5500 like it is now. I've see S13 Cams and a N60 make power up to 6500-6600 before dropping off so that would be perfect.

You didn't see the pic description right below it eh?

I can understand being able to rip through gears faster and what not, but I dont want my s-chassis to feel like driving a corolla...lol

Its a stock KA, meaning I can sacrifice top speed (which Ill never see) for quicker acceleration. If the car runs smoothly after the replacing the blown KA then I will definetely be getting one.

Wow you guys really don't read do you. He clearly states that it was fully welded the pic just shows the plate after it had been just tack welded in place.

Top speed on a KA is super lame, and takes forever to hit. Then once you hit cutoff it's all lame and all your hard work is gone. Lol.

Did you polish the wheels yourself or have a shop do it?

If yourself, shoot me a PM on how you did that. I wanna polish my spares.

I have a 4.6 with a welded diff on a stock KA... I love it. Quick shifts but motor feels like its actually got some life to it. Wakes up 4th and 5th like crazy too.

4.6 Diff with Auto computer... Car tops out a little over 150 right now. Also, top speed takes no where near as long because 4th and 5th are so much better.

Corrected* I have a 4.6, not 4.3.

Considering going 4.3... Seems like an easy way to make the KA come alive without adding actual power to the motor.

Where can I look at the prices of this? I've tried searching it on Google, but only a bunch of threads talking about it come up...

My bad, I gotta wake up some more before I post. I actually have a 4.6 in mine. Same idea just better then the 4.3. I would push everyone towards 4.6 cause I was originally debating between the two and couldn't be happier with my choice.

Got mine out of a Nissan Xterra front diff. 2001 SE has it for sure, that what I got. You can count teeth or check through codes, HG46 should be there. I paid $125 from a junkyard for the entire pumpkin. Very straightforward swap.

Just be careful not to get a 4.9 by accident. That might be too much.

hit up Sam@jspec
I got mine (R32 diff) from him
if not you can buy them from the dealer

Nissan Factory OEM Final Drive Gear Sets - Ring and Pinion - S-Chassis

but it gets pricey: final drive + installation = $$$$$

and I mentioned this years ago:
248 cams + light flywheel + 4.36 final drive = Drift King starter kit

i have a 4.3 with stock ka

not sure how i feel about it

1st gear is done pretty quick

2nd gear is perfect for drifting

5th gear is only 500 rpms higher at 60 mph

i'll sell it for $400 shipped if anyone wants it
