In my hometown there is a family who owns over 5,000 various rifle, pistols. This was in 2008, who knows how many they have now. The son was in my grade and his dad had many drum barrels full of rifles he buried in their yard.
Each one of them fired and had ammo along with them, he said he did it because he can.

I don't know I'll ever own 5,000 but it wouldn't be farfetched that I'll eventually own 1,000. Actually, I can probably say that I've owned at least 1,000 thus far in one way or another legally but I used to buy ugly stuff and fix them like surplus Nagants and Garands. I'm probably fairly close to that if I put all the lowers and uppers together I have scattered around on my bench in the basements.

I'm not sure if you're familiar with the current NFA system, but you aren't allowed to take possession of the NFA item until you get your tax stamp back. And right now form 4 wait times are 12-20 months. If you slam the NFA registry system with 4,000,000,000 applications its going to take 100 years to get a magazine through. Bye bye guns. |

When pro2a people say...ohhh they are coming for our guns..... posted above is what we mean. They will find every which way to make them unreachable...limited amount, too expensive, restricted to hell
There is a 0.00000000% chance any legislation would pass that says..ban all guns lol |

Also good if you go into bear country. Glock 20 with some hard cast bullets has been a popular choice for bear defense.

^^^The ATF that conducted the raid is under Trump soo.....yea....
These outdoor ranges with targets look like so much fun. I have not found any in my area with this type. Not a lot of outdoor ranges period. The one I have been to is just a set your own target up and shoot type of range.

next is the sig-brace, again. I'm not quite sure its up to the president on these, I think the ATF is playing fuck fuck games because P80 was selling parts kits combined with their 80% kits, basically readily convertible into a firearm, and sold to felons. Otherwise if we have to get political, Trump isn't a 2A protector, we know. At least he hasn't stated that he's coming for them.
Oh they are tons of fun. At least here in AZ, you can also just go out into the desert and shoot your own steel targets or what have you. It's very helpful to practice like in that video. You have 3-5 different positions to stand/sit in, and have to shoot the different targets a certain amount of times at each position. You have 1 chance to look at the patterns before hand, then you wait 10 minutes before going straight into shooting. Challenges memory, combat marksmanship, simulates combat stress, handling the weapon under stress. You should try it! If you do, go very slow at first. I've seen a few new kids come in there swinging their dicks around and end up nearly NDing into people faces. |

The lightweight BCG is kind of "meh" if you plan on using for self defense. It's generally something you see on 3gun/ competition only builds.
I'd personally rather have a nice mil-spec/ auto BCG from Daniel Defense, LMT, BCM, or Noveske. I'd also go with a flash hider over a muzzle brake if using for self defense. |

It has to do with mass. The heavier the bolt the easier it can pick up a round (especially in adverse conditions).
You also might have to "tune" the gas block (most go adjustable) and buffer/ buffer spring to make up for the lightweight BCG (not really worth it for the few ounces you'd save). Thus why you mainly see lightweight BCG on 3gun/ competion builds, where a high rate of fire in semi-auto comes into play. Now there are some people that have no problem with running a lightweight BCG in a defensive AR15, but it's definitely a minority. If I was to go the lightweight route... I'd probably be looking at the JP Enterprises Low Mass Operating System (LMOS): https://jprifles.com/1.4.7_LMOS.php From the JP site: Quote:

Thank you. Great info. Redid my list
R1 Tactical M16 Bolt Carrier Group - Titanium Nitride Carrier Finish: Titanium Nitride (TiN) Bolt Finish: Titanium Nitride (TiN) Carrier Material: 8620 Steel Bolt Material: 9310 Steel Weight: 11.4 oz Gas Key: Forged Mil-Spec Grade 8 attached and staked Bolt: 5.56 Shot Peened and MPI Caliber: .223/5.56/300 BLK Aero Precision full lower Faxon firearms 16” barrel Aero Precision upper United defense charging handle SureFire WarComp flash hider AR15 Enhanced Quad Rail Handguards, Gen 2 Not sure on the gas block. The articles I’m reading make it seem like the superlative adjustable gas block is the shit but someone I know who bad built AR15’s strongly suggested a non adjustable one unless one is running subsonic ammo.

SLR Rifle Works is a nice option as well: https://slrrifleworks.com/gas-blocks/
Good short video about some info related to adjustable gas blocks: Definitely pros and cons to running one. You can still tinker with different buffer weights/ springs if you go non-adjustable (if you need to). Warcomp is a nice choice if you want a touch of muzzle brake. |
