I'd say go smd or superflux (Smd is better) cause it'll be brighter and less lights needed. It would come out as the clearcorner ones pretty much It looks fucking sexy though. I'll let you guys know how my experiments work

This thread inspired me to do this with eGay tails... I still need to finish the other side then put some Lamin-X tint on them.

you know what might look interesting? what if you took a few sticks of neon, or like, colored fluorescent bulbs, and mounted them under the car for a glowing effect? that might be interesting.

People seem to do the ebay lights the hard way.
Just use transparent vinyl and wrap them, wont fad for a very long time. It looks very good that way to IMO.

i work with ambulances and cop cars every day so i have ofter thought about trying to adapt the square lights on an ambulance or some of the "cartridge" style lights for a cop light bar and just jam them in my oem lights and wire them up...but i just dont think it would look nice

I just need to get around to ordering Lamin-X. They look good at night, but pretty shitty during the day.

You say that now, but when some worthless shit steals your worthless shit, shit gets real.
Good job though. I think it would look a lot better with a circular light, kind of like halos, around the pattern, but thats just me. |

Get a newer digital relay from the parts store. They use a TTL timer not load based. Most of the flasher relays OTC these days are this design because they last longer too.

Converted turn signals and side markers to led about 3 years ago. Nothing special, but it was a fun project and it looks better than incandescent bulbs. I used Lumiled superfluxs and haven't had a single problem with them.

Don't think I have pics of board, but if I find some, I'll post here.
I would have had hyperflash, but I picked up a new flasher from superbrightleds. |

Maybe it's just me, but I really despise the "multiple LEDs" in the tail light look. I decided to finally get some LEDs in my kouki tails. After trying many different LEDs I finally found a good set that shines just as bright if not brighter than stock, and maintains a more vibrant red instead of an orangey color from stock bulbs. Not only that but uses about 100 less watts (no more dimming of electrical system when brakes are applied.)
I made a video comparison but the camera eliminates a lot of the red from the LEDs and overall makes it look dull compared to the stock bulbs, but they are not.
