Blacktop won't start, need some quick help!

So i got my sr20 completely installed and wired up, and finished my 5 speed swap. i had yuri from wiringspecialties.com do my wiring harness. i tried starting the car for the first time today. i connected the clutch start wires together so that the ecu thinks the pedal is always depressed. i connected all my grounds, and there are no loose plugs left. when i try to start the car i get a clicking sound from the starter relay, but no noises from the starter. i connected a multimeter to the starter, and it turns out that there are 12v going to the starter at all times, even when the key is out of the ignition. when i turn the key to start the car, the voltage at the starter goes to ~10v. what the hell is going on? it might just be a stupid mistake, or could my starter be fried. i tried banging the starter with a hammer (in case it was seized), but that didn't help. any ideas?

1.Check grounds for the starter and battery
2.Check the ALT(grey fuse) in engine compartment
3 Wiggle the green thing with the two plugs going to it thats located on the positive battery terminal.

so the green thing is the starter power wire?

are there supposed to be three leads going to the starter? ground, power and solenoid signal? if yes, which is which? why would i constantly have a voltage reading at the starter?

do you have all three positive battery wires hooked up? that was my first issue

Your starter positive will have 12V at all times

Yep, Starter should have 12v all times, than the signal wire (small) tells it when to start cranking at which point its normal to see voltage drop down a bit.
My guess is to check the wiring, than battery.
The sound you describe sounds like a dead battery that don't have enough CCA to turn it over.

by three positive wires connected to the battery u mean the two that clip into the red thing close to the battery terminal, and then the battery cable itself??

so there is a power wire, a signal wire and ground. my guess is that the ground comes from the engine. i am also guessing that the starter terminal with the bolt, that holds a ring clip and nut, is the positive. and then the small flat terminal that protrudes out of the starter is the signal wire. am i correct with all these assumptions?

i have an update:

i connected the battery directly to the starter and it spun the engine, so i know the starter is still good.

i have 12.5v at all times between ground and power on the starter.

and here is my problem, i have 0.0v at all timesin between the signal wire and ground on the starter, even when i try starting the car with the key.

what problem should i trace this too?

maybe a fuse??

the problem was me being retarded! i jumpered the wrong wires for the clutch start (automatic tranny inhibitor thingy) the actual wire was hiden under the fusebox. i jumped those two and it started right up. it was a thick guage two wire plug.
