Has anyone made any more progress with putting a 4 speed richmond style trans behind a jz? I just have my w58 but its going behind a stock vvti 1j. Planned on doing the 4 speed when the w58 let go after upping the power on the 1j.

Yes the aristo is a front sump engine and thats what you need for an s chassis. But you can buy a rear sump engine and swap the upper/lower pan and pickup from a rear to a front.

They are! In a recent thread they answered that. I just sent mine to Panic Wire though so just missed it.

Yes we do, we also just did a harness for Justin from a company called "flipzco" based out of New Jersey, he did a 1jz VVTI into his S13.5 and we are finishing up Matt from Clubloose bmw E36 with a 1JZ VVTI swap in it too.

Yes as bmaddock stated we are making them. We have already made them for the 1JZ VVTI set up and currently have a 2JZ VVTI engine here at the office for testing and production. So both the 1JZ and 2JZ harnesses will support the VTTI.

I was wondering with stock twins, could you pull the heater core and trim the inlet/outlet and have coolant hose be connected inside the car and it have a 90* bend out of the fire wall. That way the hose is up against the firewall.

Similar to how Broadfield trimmed his (although his is I think for quick releases):

Gosh that sounds like a great idea...

Then I crawled my ass under the dash while my buddy used some curved 12" needle nose pliers and fed them thru and I put worm clams on from the inside. Hope that makes sense.

I used Gates 19048 for the upper hose and Gates 18774 for the lower.

Moar alternator complications:

Here's the 2007 tundra alternator.

You can see the mockup for how much needs to be milled off.

Here's a pic off it after the top ear has been milled down for fitment on aristo 2jzgte.
It's a little over 5mm to be safe - and I'm adding a couple thin washers to shim it up top when installing - for belt alignment.

You can also see the new 4-pin denso pigtail.

I tried to keep the pn visible in the photo:

27060-0f070
* rated at 130 amps

Now here's the strange thing - the janky wiring that I have on the old 3-pin connector was done by someone I paid for wiring - well that all feeds together into a single bundle and into one wire leading to who knows where in my harness.

Now that I'm putting the 4-pin pigtail on, where should it be connecting into?

I want to do this correctly.

(The markings on the sticker for the 4 pins are IG, S, L, M respectively.)

I'd only assume it had more amps. But how much more. Why not just buy a direct bolt on unit?

The aristo alts are 90-100 amp.

The tundra one I purchased is 130 amp.

I feel this helps with the drain from the walbro fuel pump and extra gauges, etc.

The sequoia 4.7L has a 150 amp alternator that can be modded the same way.

But I got this for $80 on eBay, so it was a cheap upgrade IMO.

Yeah just seems like a lot of work vs a bolt on. And I'm a machinist lol. Never had issues with my 100amp and i use 2 large bosch pumps, gauges, fans, radio, ac, 750whp.

Datalog everything too and voltage is spot on.

I don't know about other cities, but in tampa fl I can take my alt and have it rebuilt, and make it so its 150a or what ever. Seems to be easier imo.

Here you go: http://www.supraforums.com/forum/sho...tage-Question&

Quote:
The supra 3 pin connector the pins are as follows:
1-L-terminal for charging light
2-IG-terminal for ignition power
3-S-terminal for Alternator sense

The Tundra 4 pin connector the pins are as follows:
1-S-terminal
2-IG-terminal
4-L-terminal

So pin 1 goes to 4, pin 2 goes to 2 and pin 3 goes to 1. The pin 3 is left vacant so use silicone sealant to fill it (toyota black fipg will work well also)

I know it dépends on the mount you have but usually, how much do you extend the shifter on the r154 ??? I might do it before I drop the engine in the car so info on this could be helpful.
