Anybody have z32 interior shots? Maybe I'm in the wrong thread cause I couldn't find one in the z chassis forum. :/

Here's a speaker mod that I haven't seen on another 240sx.

[IMG][/IMG]

I cut a sheet of Medium Density Fiberboard (used for speakerboxes), wrapped it in a textured vinly, and squeezed a 10" sub and two 6.5" speakers into the hole from the trunk passthrough. The sheet of MDF is mounted using two bolts, two large washers, and the existing threaded holes from the back seat latch mechanism (can't see them in this pic).

^ subs facing the wrong way.

I deleted my rear speakers. Coupes really should not have them. It's best to use that money to get better fronts the have a rear facing sub in the rear.

I never got why people put such huge speakers, or crazy set ups in their cars. Do you really want it to be so loud that you go deaf? Maybe I am biased because my car is a bare minimum track car that doesn't even have a radio... but still...

The higher the pitch the more sensitive to distortion. This is why tweeters need to be high and facing you. This way it's a clear shot to your ears and sounds crispest.

Mids can go lower, ala doors. In a coupe, rears really just add noise.

Subs. Subs are bass. Your ear doesn't sense direction on bass, just pressure. You want the sub to face backwards to reverberate off the back of the car then travel up too you. This gives you that warm "surrounded" feel.

When facing forward the sounds waves from the subs hit the sound waves from your tweeters and speakers. This distorts the clarity and just give you noise.

That's just a single 10" sub in the image posted... that's about as small of a sub setup as one would have. If you like music and want to reproduce it as intended by the recording studio, then you need to have some form of a subwoofer setup to do it.

I love my s15 knob, comfortable especially in this florida heat. Had a friend burn his hand on his PSM knob.

Exactly. Having large speakers, amps or a quality setup doesn't mean you have to blast it at deafening levels. It simply means you are able to play the music with outstanding fidelity and clarity.

Also, as far as CaptainVlad's comments on cuz RACECAR,

If the car has a license plate, insurance and driven on the street, if it's ever used to get you to a meet, work or school... it's not a race car.

Having chased that idiotic dream and stripped out sound deadening and yada yada, the end result is just a miserably loud, hot and uncomfortable car that only sounds and feels fasters.

I value a quality sound system, a reasonable exhaust and an interior that doesn't rattle, squeak and have all sorts of obnoxious vehicle noises. I wish I had A/C right now, but my system was tossed 5 years ago when it went out.

Epic interior for a car that came out in 1977. I would argue both the 300ZX TT and NSX copied it's styling cues.

Is that real carbon or a carbon overlay of some sort? Incredible either way.
