So getting my Back struts installed tomorrow, All new tires and rims going on aswell.

Drove my car around quite a bit, about 20-30 miles. I noticed that I couldn't get it to overheat.. and I tried, just to check.

Even without ever turning the fan on, my car would not go past 186* F and was constantly going back down in temp! I got it to 186* idling it for about 30 minutes.. no fan.

and usual cruising temps were around 173-182*F

Seems a bit cold. I read the thermo is for.. 170?

just interesting as other car's I've owned run more around the 200-210 temp as normal.

where is your temp probe?

My rb20 is running a mishimoto aluminum radiator, 12 inch puller on the rear and a big 14 or 16 baller 200 dollar fan on the front. in this heat, 80 degrees, humidity, 180-190 on the highway, this is having the temp pickup on the bottom radiator hose.

in traffic I have to have the fans on. In cooler weather, Unless im idling around I dont need the fans, on the track temps went up to like 190-200 oil was at 210. Oil is usually 180. I'm running an oil cooler with grex thermostat setup as well.

I have ducting for the radiator and fresh coolant, although I am just running 50/50 green stuff.

Also running a rb25/26 pump which seems to have helped.

.....

I'm @ 180-190 with mine but I have the clutch fan on. When I had electric fans in it would see 200-210 all the time with the fan going. It's warmer out here in Socal tho so the fan clutch really keeps the temps down even after romping on it.

I have an oil temp gauge and I rarely see over 180 in oil temps.

my water Temp sensor is Right next to where the stock 2 are, Drilled and tapped a whole for it.

I saw 187* today.

When is it considered too hot?

This is a decent thread, really looking forward to seeing a dyno sheet from you later. Are you street tuning it or you renting out a dyno? Also, your online behavior is just like my friends;he always used to argue with everyone but it just comes down to not giving a fuck because they don't buy you parts. It's your car, do what you want, let them sit there and be the keyboard commando.

I personally wouldn't have bought the rb20 just because of what I read online (not many car friends in real life) about parts availability and shit but its working out for you so more power to ya. Don't worry about them, let them think they are superior with their sr20s and what not.

I do think you need to chill out though, I see that you reply in the thread with kids asking about swaps, but you don't need to argue with everyone. First of all, the kids asking don't know shit but can find everything in the stickies on here and 240sxforums if they were really going to do the swap. Second, it's not worth it to argue on every goddamn thread for you or the people who argue back, it's a waste of brain cells. Just be happy that you got a decent motor (your junkyard motor runs well, be happy) and you are making decent power or are shooting for more power.

For the car though, I would suggest that when you pull the motor you should re do the engine bay. Look in the engine bay thread, they have some decent rattle can jobs from Home depot that look sexy. I assume you primered the car in prep for a paint job.

Keep it up

I have decided to just chill and if people want to say shit then whatever I don't care anymore. I am having fun and for a rb20 it's freaking fast.

also I just did a crap rattle can spray job, not a whole lot of prep. I just wanted to make this my fun car, I don't care much about it's beauty. It's completely sleeper because it looks like ass.

The only time I interject in a swap thread is when I want the OP to know that RB20 is still an option, and if they dedicate the resources to it, it's definitely a worth-while swap.

Wow, sounds pretty responsive for a turbo like that on a 2 liter. I've got to give you a big thumbs up, man- you've got balls pushing that much air through an RB20, especially w/ as aggressive of tuning as you were getting flamed for. Can't wait to see how high you go with the stock bottom end.

thanks thanks much appreciated. I'm going to get it dyno'd here shortly. I have to get some better clamps because my couplers keep blowing off at full boost.

They are cut out by hand, that's how old RB20 technology is.

I've been following your thread from a couple weeks (even if I'm new here).

What injectors are you using ?

Will you use an e-clutch to drive the M90 or letting it always powered even when the turbo kicks in ?

Always on, The M90 doesn't have a electromagnetic clutch. it will compound the boost.

I am using Siemens Deka IV EV6 60lb
