Im kyle, This is clearly my first post and ive over thought this introduction way to much. I've been coming on zilvia thread searching for just under a year now and finally decided to create an account. I have very serious plans to sell both my current cars and buy a 240sx soon, this is what motivated me to create a zilvia account. Went to a japanese auto repair shop today and they had no idea what a sr20det was lol anyways they tried to figure out what was wrong with the car and found out that only 1 of the coil packs was working and they rest weren't.. I need help plz

Hey gang, I'm John!

Back in the day, those early glorious 2000 and something days, I had a buddy who was really into cars and drifting. He was in luck as we lived in Okinawa where there was plenty about. Well, hanging out with him finally got me hooked and in time I had me a 96 Nissan Silvia Q. The previous owner had hooked it up and required very little input and mods from myself to be a sliding machine and a great cruiser.

I'm not much of a mechanic and I was so-so at drifting. In fact, I am pretty sure constant rainfall and corral in the roads (making them very slippery) helped me slide a lot. Despite that I loved my silvia and I am thinking of getting my hands on another one when funds allow.

Just wanted to say hi in between reading posts and trying to learn a thing or two & browsing the sales thread while my extra cash account grows achingly slowly.

Engine: KA24de w/ intake pipe and leaking rear seal, 158k miles on the OD
Vehicle History: Was my parent's car, or rather, my mom's car, complete with red bra, red pinstriping, and red spoiler (gag, but my mom liked it). They bought it in 2001 from a friend of the family, and have driven it since. They decided to give it to me about 6 months ago since I have wanted a 240sx since I started driving in the mid 90s. First thing I did was remove the bra. Next will be removing the pinstriping, and lastly new paint will take care of the ugly red spoiler and fading.

Build Plans:

DD in summer, no plans to drift or race other than the occasional Friday night drags to see what it can pull in the 1/4 mile.

Brakes: Q45 fronts, stock rear, upgraded pads and rotors
Suspension: FEAL coilovers, Upgraded adjustable links, arms, etc. all around
Aero: Full Navan minus spoiler (I know it's been done, but CO has relatively few 240s and there are only 2 other s14s in my town so it will still be VERY unique)
Paint: Right now I am leaning towards Starfire Blue Pearl
Interior: Sound deadening the entire interior (starting this winter), upgraded reclining buckets, full custom gauge clusters (Broadfield is such an inspiration).
Sound system: 7" DDIN w/ components all around, 8" SA-8
Engine/Drivetrain: RB25det (NEO possibly), FMIC, ISIS Intake Manifold, injectors, etc. Looking to put ~350hp to the ground, nothing earth shattering, but still easily street driven on a daily basis.

I will do suspension, wheels, aero, and paint before I get after the engine swap, so I am looking at approximately 2 years for the build, maybe a little longer. I don't plan on ever selling this car once it is done, so I want to do it right the first time.
