It's just that the car is gonna be black so I kinda want the wheels to "pop" .. either way, they gotta get taken back apart. The paint isn't that great.

Btw. They are not watanabes

"test fit"

The subframe is out for cleaning and bushings. I'm not buying anymore Advans unless they're RG1s.

Anythings better then steel trailer wheels. I kinda like Sportmaxx though. The real question is are they the OG 2007 Sportmaxx, or the hella gay new XXRs. Lol

Frankly unless your having rubbing issues I'd leave it. Staggered sizing with small wheels can look really awkward. Especially on coupes.

IMO the fitment and amount of stretch look just right right as is.

My car has trailer wheels and is also pretty ugly (can't wait to get new wheels and re-paint it!) so this is a great thread to post it in haha

If anyone cares, 15x9 +0, 205/50-15 square, -3ish camber all around

True. Just want it a tad lower but doubt think my coilovers will make that possible.

Have you removed the collars? There's 3 under the spring.

One that the spring actually sits on, one that locks that collar under the spring, and one that locks on the lower mount. If you are maxed out and all the 3 collars are touching each other, you can remove one or two to drop the front another 5-15mm depending on how thick the collars are.

Example:

This isn't an s13 but you get the idea. Remove collars B and C, then drop until A is resting on the lower mount.

That is an option I was looking at. I have silk road coilovers and the bottom collar is very think as opposed to the flat spring perch ones.

I had PBM Competitions and ran only spring perches. Tons of street driving, potholes, crappy interstate highways. Never had an issue with it.

I don't think to collars are really a point of potential failure, regardless of thickness. Then again I am not an engineer lol. Maybe just remove the middle collar and see how you like it?

Just to clarify, you don't want to drop the spring perch down to the lower mount, you'd want to raise the lower mount UP to the spring perch. Or else you've removed all the spring preload and reduced the amount of stroke available. However if it's the rear, the only option is to droop the spring perch.

YES! This is correct, apologies. I forget this isn't common knowledge.

OP the correct terms for this thread would be "zokusha"/"bosozoku" (gang car), "shakotan" (low car) styling. Goes way back decades in style even though people today are just now getting across it and think it's a stance movement. Yes, even steel wheels and musical horns were used in the car's styling which completes the look as well as excessive exhaust pipes and obnoxious paint and aero.

A shop even is famous for making these wide wheels called "Kamagaya Wide Wheel." Oldschool

One of the style goals was primarily to mimic silhouette racing cars
