Think there was only 5,000 GTI-R's produced in Japan anyways from 90-94 so that Nissan could enter into WRC....too bad the GTI-R never placed that well, suppose that's why it was killed off....

Oh so you finally got it from your friend Jeff?

Was a sweet Car, I remember seeing it all over the place back in the day.

I just sold a GTIR front clip last week, 1200 bucks.

You are correct it only came with a journal bearing T28 which is bigger in specs than the S14/S15 ball bearing turbo mainly do in part to its turbine side.

I would love to have one of those and set it up for rally. It would be fun to take one of those dirt roads off pearblossom on the way to LACR.

Nice find! I have to agree with everyone on here and say I'm jealous. I'm curious though, how would you get that thing legit to drive on the street? Register it as a G20? Weekend/rare car status? Kit car? I'd hate to see it sit in a police towing yard b/c of some paperwork issues.

Sounds like people have slow awd cars down there. Mine nor many of the ones up here would have that problem.

Take care of it. Haven't seen that many in socal. Seen a few in norcal.

Yeah Guy its mine now.. I just got to get pick it up. Tomorrow or next Friday. I want it now but i got a test coming up... Yeah when i get it fixed up right you can try it out @ 15psi...muhahahahah!!!
I had no idea the japanese ones came awd. In us, they are fwd.

And EXCUSE ME for not being super savy on those cars, some people got butt hurt cause I thought it was FWD, one person even - repped me and didn't leave a name.

IMO FWD layout SUCKS. I have no problem or bias against AWD layout... I would actually own a car that has an awd layout, not fwd. anyway, nice find on the car. have fun with it and stay safe....

Eh, researched and found out some new info.. Cool beans, learn something everyday.. The lack of dash mark separating the numbers is what led me to believe they were fake.. Thanks for allowing me to further my knowlege.

I guess i was wrong about the BB part. I thought they were.

I swaped one of these into a B13, and it is a STRONG Motor. You can run it on 91 octane. Are you still top mount intercooler?

A couple tricks are to put washers and longer bolts through the top mount I/C to space it away from the head, You pick up some power doing that.

Also, a turbo forward intake does wonders. The intake inlet for the turbo is RESTRICTIVE @ 44mms' to fit WRC regulation. So those two mods are supposed to pickup power.

After that its all about a bigger radiator, and an oil cooler, because it runs really really hot in FWD/AWD config, with the turbo up against the radiator.

I'd really like a chance to take a peek at your car (along with my sentra friend), shoot me an email if you are going to be at any meets soon.

[email protected]

Thanks!
