Meh.
Ain't got shit on a 911 RS. One thing that has always made Porsche cool has been their elegant solutions to weight loss. In the case of the original 911 RS the carpet, rear seat delete and door cars look fantastic. Door cars are simply flat panels with leather coverings and pull straps attached to the handle mechanism. The stock plush carpet with backing is replaced with thin lightweight material with no backing. Rear seats are deleted. End result is a clean, lighter interior that doesn't look like a junk-yard race car. Stay Classy. |

Having a shiny interior could potentially be quite annoying.
And there are already all kinds of carbon fiber interior bits for the S-chassis. People are just too poor to buy them. |

Not bad. Could always flock it or hit it with some dull paint or plastiderp. My issue with this stuff is sound. Is that fiberglass going to cause noises to amplify? I have subframe risers and a welded diff.... aghhh need more dynamat. Mustangs- |

So, you gut your interior to save weight. Then replace the missing panels with aftermarket panels that look worse and probably weigh about the same.
That's fucking stupid... |

May not be for some of the 240 crowd. still to new of a car still tons of semi good condition interior panels out there somewhere. For alot of the older cars it make sense most interior is gone or trashed.

but really, if you are trying to shed every ounce of weight i understand stripping the interior... but only to then add different, more incomplete panels? seems redundant.
this looks better: I still think that a set of S30Z style smuggler's storage bins in place of the rear seats would be cool.

email them if you guys are serious about getting their panels. they'll see a rise in interest. when i spoke to them, they explained that they have plans, but have not had time to work on them.
i think one advantage to their flat door panels is space. you get a little more room for your door bars for those of us with a jungle gym/cage/scaffolding.

How is all that aluminum with the coating lighter than the OEM plastic and rear seats? Doesn't that defeat the point of removing the stuff in the first place

Everyone knows that step one of building a car is to remove the interior. Its not a cool car unless its completely uncomfortable and an eyesore.
I enjoy the light weight modding people do when really they should just stop eating so much in-n-out. Lose 20 lbs and keep interior or look like a skinny fat tool and strip your car to look just as shitty as your body? Choices, choices.

Have you checked to see if this qualifies as a legitimate rear firewall with any of the governing bodies for racing events/track days/etc? Other than the previously mentioned battery issue, I know some organizations require a rear firewall for cars with fuel cell set-ups. Seems like that's some information that could benefit the consumer as well as the manufacturer. If it can't pass tech inspection anywhere its pretty much useless.

Yay bringing old threads back from the dead.
They are located near Sacramento Ca and I just called them about making the firewall and side panels as well as the speaker deck for my S14. Same price as the s13 stuff as well. Here is a link to their FB page so you can inquire there. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Techn...18825541490643 |
