When you don't hit sales numbers, because you loose out 15-25% of you sales because those that want manuals don't buy it - then you say "See, not enough demand to justify the cost..." The 8HP is a fantastic transmission, however the Z4pra chassis also already has a DCT setup that is vastly superior and a MT-82 manual that's - alright. Calibration and design have both already been done. Cost are sunk, it's literally just opening another option on the order sheet. Offering the Zupra with the Turbo-4 takes infinitely more effort and cost then it would be to offer a manual or DCT option. So this is either Toyota being stupid stubborn dumb fucks "Oh, any car over 300hp should be automatic, to hard to control on the street, ruins spirit of car" or possibly something in the agreement with BMW to ensure the Z4 gets the best shit (DCT) or Subaru to ensure the BRZFRZ86GT is the "fun to drive and engaging manual car". TURBO THE FUCKING 86GTFRBZ! MANUELL DAS VERDAMMTE ZUPRA! |

cheap plastic engine covers will never replace the sight of a factory painted glossy red or black valve cover with badging to signify the motor is something special. those old engine bays we adore had a certain sense of pride to them when opening the hood. now its like weve gone back to the ugliness of 70s/80s engine bays that were a cluster fuck of ugly vacuum lines and emissions equipment. i swear were starting to sound like old farts "Pepperidge Farm remembers" even the SR in stock form was gorgeous to look at... |

Even the Ascent gets better mileage at 21 city / 27 highway with, presumably, the turbo version of the same engine, AWD, 93 more torques, an extra 1700 lbs to carry around, and punching a much larger hole in the air.

So, any thoughts on the new 2022 WRX?:
The Crosstrek shaped/ styled fender flares make it a hard no for me. The new FA24 Turbo would've been sweet in the new GR86/ BRZ, though (271HP/ 258TQ). |

So many iconic racing/ tuned WRX & STI's from the past till now... Yet most people still associate these cars with vaping, energy drink apparel, sticker bombs and crappy bolt on flares. |

I'm looking forward to a photoshop of those flares painted body color. It would be an easy fix though a shame to throw in more money to "fix" a brand new car.

The looks aren't great, agreed but I can stomach it if they made some meaningful improvements to power figures. Sadly not the case with projected maybe 5 hp increase. Also a CVT has no business being there. Biggest disappointment of the year arguably

It looks like a car that identifies as a crossover.

imagine how easy it will be to 3d print and make molds of over fenders for this car. no need to replace the entire fender when you can just replace the plastic sections with flared FRP sections.

I bet the metal fender is still in the same place and the plastic is just an overlay. So a replacement flare wouldn't give you any more clearance, just style. It would be nice either way, but will still probably still require fender cutting (though still more easily hidden).

I do hate any fender that can't easily be rolled and pulled, so hopefully this can easily be replaced without too much headache |

I bet the construction is the same as the current Crosstrek which has the same basic setup with different styling. Looking at pictures online, it doesn't seem like there's any functional difference in the Crosstrek fender, just an added on plastic cladding. As I said, it might make minor trimming easier as it doesn't have to look even remotely pretty. But if you want to go bigger, you'd end up cutting off the mounting holes pretty quickly.

With the Z being manual. that opens up the Infiniti mods so much. A manual Q60 AWD would basically be a baby GTR. I wonder if the manual trans is the same one in the 370z. I can already see CD09 mount kits with ECU hacks to flash the Z manual trans map onto the Q60/50's. I'm excited to see what companies come up with. On driving the Q50. Journalists say the drive by wire steering is numb. What do you say towards that?

my statement was based more around the lines of having it as a daily driver... with a third pedal. yes i know it will be expensive to do, but at least it would suit daily driving nicely. both aesthetically (dropped on coilovers with nice wheels and a catback) and functionality wise (driving me around town, look all snazzy on the aforementioned point of aesthetics) all while having a wonderful 3rd pedal and manual transmission. i really dont see myself getting rid of my S13 in those 10 years. i love my S13 to death, and have dumped over 40k into the thing. one day in the next few years when my product line is finally done, ill have the cars body work and paint done and just enjoy driving her around, knowing i dont have to rip the exterior bits off every weekend to test new pieces with. but yeah, a daily driven Q50 with a manual transmission is something that just makes my heart soar. a twin turbo V6 sedan that looks absolutely amazing and performs well where i can row my own boat... yes pls! |

The front end looks to be at a different scale as the rest of the truck. If they zoomed out the headlights and grill to 60-75%, it would look passable.

Its not Silverado ugly, but that is something I would not want parked in my drive way.
The new trucks are all missing the mark looks wise. The silverado has been fugly for years now, same with the Ford F series. The current dodge ram looks like a 2015 model truck.

Marcello Gandini issued a press release telling the world in no uncertain terms that he had nothing to do with the new Countach.
Lamborghini and their cash grabs. Fuck them. Say what you will about the company now, but when the LP400 came out, it was groundbreaking. The new Countach is more of the same low-effort bullshit Ferrari, Lamborghini, and McLaren have all been peddling since there's so much goddamn cash floating around out there. https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a3...the-new-model/ |
