Off shore work

Im looking into working offshore and im looking for a bit of info to help get my foot in the door. Namely some of the best companies to apply for, some of the things i may need. Also if someone is currently in this line of work, could u provide some pointers.

I been looking into becoming a Roustabout, since its pretty straight forward and its a entry level position. So any info, tips, leads, suggestions that u may be able to provide will be greatly appreciated. If it helps any im Located in Central Louisiana, so any companies around or close to that area would be preferred.
