Hey guys when I put the new rings on the pistons, does it matter which way the gaps face? Just as long as they are all offset from each other right?

While you're at it you may as well get some ARP rod studs. The stockers are the weak link in the bottom end.

Great suggestion but no I'm keeping it all stock. Besides as long as the stocks can hold my 400bhp goal, I'm happy

Yes you can just chuck ACL bearings in but during assembly you WILL need to measure again to ensure you have correct clearances. The standard bearings are all graded with the grade of each bearing in the engine stamped on the front most counterweight on the crank(Mains on the top, rods on the bottom, left to right = front to back) If you want to go stock bearings you'll need to order the right ones or go up in sizes depending on wear on the crankshaft itself.

Clearance on both mains and rods are .001in. Which is. 025mm. Seem about right?

Anybody know the torque specs for the piston oil squirters? I just cleaned them out so now need to put them on. I have the r33 fsm downloaded but idk where to begin looking?

i just decided to tighten them by feel, they dont really seem like something that requires a specific torque. thanks though man!!

its creates laziness. ^^^ a simple google search would have brought up everything you needed to know.. good luck though with your rebuild and get some pics up of the process. and even if the cylinder still have the cross hatch i would go buy a glaze breaker from your local parts store and hit each cylinder. helps alot believe it or not..
