How to: Sunroof shade
If you still have a sunroof shade it's probably destroyed like mine. The oem particle board just fell apart and I wanted a fix for it. I went to Home Depot and bought a big piece of plexiglass. All they had was clear or this opaque one. I'm going to give this a shot and if the sun still bothers me I'll just paint it a solid color.
Start by removing the clips and removing the brackets. The plexiglass has a protective film over it, so I traced around it. Melvin inspected my work. I took a Dremel with a drill bit and cut out the shape. It actually worked really well. I went around it with a sanding disk after to smooth things out. I then laid the oem shade under the glass and marked for the holes. This bracket needed to be cut down flush. Basically the finished product. In hindsight I should of taken out the sunroof, flipped it over, and got better measurements. The old sunshade was way out of whack and I had to trim a few holes and what not to get it in the car better.
