1995 Nissan 240sx: How much does the differential cost?

Im might buy a 1995 240sx but the owner says it needs a new differential and there are grinding noises from the transmission gear. I just want to know if it will cost a lot to fix it and are the grinding noises a big issue? The guy told me that its still drivable though.

Not terribly expensive but labor intensive (for a newbie) to start out with.
Personally, I'd stay away from this car. Bad differential and transmission to me are indicators of a car that's been abused.
