P10 G20/Primera Ownership Experiences?

I'm trying to find a good P10 but know exactly no people who have owned one.

What's the ownership experience like in terms of parts availability? I can already see from five minutes on an Infiniti parts website that there are a ridiculous number of parts no longer available from Nissan. Front or rear hubs aren't available, zero front or rear suspension parts are available, brake parts aren't available, etc.

Is there a robust owner group in Japan?

Is this a complete exercise in futility?

They're quite difficult to source parts for but there are some around.

We had the Primera P10 in Europe, you can get front hubs I checked my source and also found front subframes, front lower arms, rear links, anti roll bars etc. I think there's more than you think around.

But they rust. They rust like you wouldn't believe.

I live in California and have a shop to store it, so I'm not worried about rust.

You can get aftermarket parts, but nothing from Infiniti in America.

There's a thought in my mind to import a Spanish or Portuguese Primera and legalize it for California emissions, but that's a ridiculous way to spend money.

Oh you misunderstand lol, it?ll be rusty when you get it. An Autech went thru the auctions last week and it was already half dead.

Don?t try and get your parts from Infiniti, use the Nissan network. You?ll be pleasantly surprised.

There?s used to bug a guy called Shea at Tacoma Nissan in Washington. I used him to secure all my 32GTR bits back in the day. He knows his way around the quirky cars parts catalog. You could see if he?s still there.

I wouldn't bother.

I had a manual one, the first transmission's synchros were on their way out when I got it, eventually the transmission stopped going into 5th and reverse. So I sourced and swapped the transmission to an SE-R for the limited slip and the same exact synchros gave out on that transmission too. I lost about $1000 bucks in parts and labor then sold it at a loss to a friend for about 300 bucks. They're not that great IMO. I'd rather have a P11 or another eco box.

The goal is to try to find other worthwhile '90s/'00s cars and save them, but right now with the hours I'm working, I can't even find time to do brakes on my Prius.
