I believe the Mayan calendar ends with Winter Solstice 2012, which on our calendar is December 21st. However if you count down using their day system it's December 23rd. Christians picked up on the 12/12/12 bit...

Im crossing my fingers and hoping the Mayans are correct. But you must keep in mind this is from the same people who were wiped clean by the Spanish. If they could predict the end of days, one would think they could predict their own fate.

This is dumb, units of time are inventions of man. I highly doubt a species that has existed for 0.003% of our planets history possess the capability to predict it's downfall based on no evidence at all.
