Ok so this is what Chris said in the email:

OBX intake - 2-3 week b/o.
Price $65.00 - I need to verify this because OBX tends to make errors in
pricing of there stuff.
NO MIN. Particiapants.

AEM Intake - $160.00
Need at least 10 DOHC participants.

S/H on the intakes...$13.00 insured.

So that's that....

feel free to input.
Chris

Just wondering about personal experiences with this piece (the OBX)... any out there? I am guessing that it comes with everything needed, of course? Depending on opinions/experiences, I think I would probably be in for a blue one, 12V SOHC. Really, I would hope that they could get the piping correct... I guess what I am worried about is the quality of the filter. Thanks!!

I haven’t heard much about the OBX ether so if anyone has any review or anything please post links

Im sure that OBX has the piping and vacuum tubes all 100% right because they are a bigger company that makes alot of stuff. Their filter I dunno about it I would like to hear more but I bet I would change to a K&N after a while

AEMs are supposed to come with K&Ns but Chris said the last one he got didn’t say K&N but that doesn’t mean its not…

hey all

chris here!

I am going to LA in a few minutes.  I plan on stopping by a few distributors and AEM.  I'll try to find the best GB pricing!

the OBX intake did not fit my 98 properly. there is a hose fitting downstream just b4 the MAF that my 98 didn't need. it poked right into the fan shroud. had to cut it off and alum-weld it closed. then it was missing a fitting back at the manifold end, so i had to add a fitting there. IIRC the 95-98's r the same, so i would NOT recommend. label says 95-98. coulda been misboxed, but not worth the hassle cuz its only a temporary intake b4 SR swap. u get what u pay for. mods r sometimes needed.

PS both Injen & AEM have designed their own filters now. they still may be made by K&N, but they do not aknowledge that. they claim as their own. not a bad thing.....still excellent quality!

Well, poo to the DOHC kit, then. How about experiences on the SOHC intake? Sounds like it might fit better on the SOHC. Maybe AEM for the DOHCs, and OBX for the SOHCs :-) Any 89-90 opinions on the OBX out there? Thanks!!

for $65 ill give the obx a try(for an 89 S13-SOHC).  even if the filter isnt K&N it can be switched real easy.  let me know when you're ready and count me in Omega.

We used to sell the OBX intake. They ended up being more hassle than they were worth. We had almost all of them get returned to us because of the aweful fitment problems. We ended up pretty much giving them away. Injen is deffinately the way to Go. Perfect fitment, and great intake.

yea, the only problem with AEM is that they dont make SOHC intakes. &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>
