No XXR's.. Dont worry haha. VS-XX's or Blitz 03's are my current dream wheels.
Quote:
Materials- $750 for the paint/reducer, another $850 for the clear/reducer/hardener, $70 for primer, Probably right around $200ish for tape/sandpaper, buffing compound, etc., Around $150ish on bondo/panelbond (what I used to fill the licence plate.. doesnt show warps in the sun like covering it with bondo does).. Then the new mouldings came out to $300 (front fastener/trim, sunroof (which was a bitch to get the old one off), and rear, all new hood bumpers/etc. $200 to have the windows removed and put back on. Way more than I really wanted to think about haha. If it was just someone walking off the street it would be a $7-10k paintjob with labor and all. |

Thanks guys, Cali ill get some soon... Im going to simply clean this weekend, maybe a professional will snap some shots haha.
Dom, my dads been doing body work for 20 something years, and we have a paintbooth in our backyard shop (shops bigger than the house lmao). It was my first, definetly not his though. Time wise, I started in July working on it every sunday (just doing one bodypanel at a time), every panel on the car was beat to hell... If I was working on it solid non stop, it wouldve probably taken me about a week-week 1/2 for body work/primer. Then I pulled it off the road to block sand it down and get it ready for paint/paint it, wetsand, buff, and reassemble. That took 2 weeks of 8-16 hour days. So realistically, if its your first time, and you are taking your time (prepwork=time, and prepwork is the key to a good paintjob), I would expect your car to be off the road for 3-4 weeks. If you are rushing it and not completly disassembling it (ie taping windows and spraying with bumpers, etc. on it), and not going to wetsand and buff it, id say itll take around 2 weeks. It just all depends how nice you want it to look. Feel free to PM me with any questions you may have, ill answer them the best I can. |

I gave up on expensive paint jobs, since always when they come out of paint something out of my hands fucks up my paint. I have already repainted my 240sx 4 times lol, and twice it was a complete color chance.
I have probably blown 10k plus on paint. Luckily I get charged cheap since I give my painter a lot of referrals. Im gonna be plasti-dipping my 350z white since its my daily and it needs paint. |

Louisiana... The nascar rocket bunny spoiler, and diamond wheels fit right in... Personally, I wouldnt be caught dead driving that around... I dont understand why people take pride in making their cars look like utter shit. I cant even blame it on poor execution... just poor taste I guess.. Im not even going to comment on the TRA Kyota 6666 wheel paint attempt.
