Ka24e n/a charging issue

What's up everyone I know quite a bit about my ka and have been through the motor a few times already so onto my question.
I was driving home from work and it started bogging bad only had 1/8 throttle before it would bog out. Then the battery died. Did a jump got it to the parts store threw in a new alternator the fuse popped because like a dumb ass I didn't unhook the batt when uninstalling. Made a janky fuse since the alt. fuse is dealer only and picked one up today gonna throw it in tomorrow see if it'll charge the system again... Question is has anyone had this issue and if the fuse doesn't work what should be my next step? Test the signal wires to the alt?

Sorry for the essay but eliminating random questions that some people ask

Just my 2 cents. I've seen multiple 'new/rebuilt' alternators with failed regulators. Have the alternator tested for an easy first step.

Yeah I chased all the wires all the way through the car and all has expected power. So I'm gonna pull it tomorrow and just swap it out. I'm pretty sure I fried it when it shorted. So this time ill make sure to not be an r*tard and disconnect the batt before install
