Yeah Oki's Tropicalness is great I just went to visit the inlaws last year and the car scene has def gone down since 04.
I would still love to live there as a Civi though, but I guess well see when I get to main land.

Thats really my big question is what car do I want...

Ive had/have an R33, AE86, S13, S14.

I def wanna drift but want something different.

The wife wants a Chaser. If I was able to slap in a RB25DET in an R32 and legally drive it Id rock that.

Maybe just get a S13 Silvia......So many choices!!! haha

When and if I go back, I want to do a JZX100 Mark II. I still think they're the cleanest 4 door sedans out there. Buddy of mine had one, shit was buttery smooth sideways due to the long wheel base. JZX110 just looks like a giant fucking corolla to me.

Another option is C35 Laurel with an RB25 swap and 5 speed. I dont know, I got this raging hard-on for 4 door sedans right now.

Shit, I still dont know why you wanted a C33. I think the C34 looks better. What year is your chassis? Old enough to bring back in 4 yrs?

I know its doable, but I dont wanna have to swap out engines for a JCI unless I find a guy that can do it. Really depends on my resources.

I forgot the Rules BUT:
I am wondering though if TMO will ship over my Hachi to Mainland since Its 26 years old

I think you may be able to. Check out the TMO thread on ZY about it. Theres a guy in the (Foamy wrath or something) and he works at TMO.

I just JCI'd my laurel with the 25 and went fine. Only thing is to make sure the title has been adjusted accordingly. Its easy to do.

I dont think you can Pat, the cut off for cars to bring to Japan is pre-1974, that doesnt change. If you can find a Z, I'd bring that and try to flip it to JDM'ers make some money on the side.

Interesting I didnt know you could do that, I remember way back when you could do something like a Modified Title but it cost a good chunk of change from what I heard.

I thought you can bring whatever you want to Oki, but for anything made after '78, it has to go to mainland first, be registered and etc., then shipped down to Oki. The embargo only stands for cars coming straight here. Something along the lines of that.

You thinking about bikes? If you bring a US spec bikes, it has to be inspected in mainland. You figured if its easy to do or cheap, more folks would be bringing their cars with them to Japan. Why would I want to have my car sit in storage when/if I can bring it with me.

I don't know about Misawa of Oki but Yokosuka has a fair amount of E plates running around. 300c's, mustangs, Escalades, Tahoes, you name it, its here.

One thing I want to know, does the title adjustment cost anything? I'd like to swap my SR into something else when the body gets beat to crap.

Glad you're coming back! If you're ever down in Tokyo/Chiba area let me know, I'm always down for track days.

Thats ridiculous, I understand ppl not wanting to have to buy a new car, but that just takes away one of the experiences of Japan. Although I enjoyed RHD more. Plus id be more fucked up driving a LHD car over there.
