Maximum TIRE(Rubber) fitment thread

This thread is for people with s chassis cars who own or know someone who owns s chassis car(s) with maximum rubber and maximum wheel width for grip in mind -- whether this be for street or track or both.

It's for the slowly growing crowd of enthusiasts who are more swayed towards lapping/maximum grip from their car as opposed to drift or looks. Those who own their car and attempt to make their car meet or exceed the performance of modern sports cars, supercars heck even hypercars... whether they just have a street car and do it for personal achievement or race it at the track. Whatever this may be to you if you are someone who likes to see/have/drive on with 255 on an 8.5", 275/285 on a 10", 3xx on a 11"/12", etc... please post. The ever growing small crowd and trend needs it's own recognition..
. we need to change the stereotype that S chassis cars are only good for the slammed look or drift. It's unfortunately a small crowd but people don't know what they are missing.

Post in the following manner:

YOUR CHASSIS: s13, s14, s15

WHEELS:
brand, model, size, width, offset

TIRES:
brand, model, width, profile, size

MISC DETAILS: power/mods/?

PURPOSE OF CAR: street/track/both

To give you guys an idea of the beauty of what this thread is attempting to do ... I will honor two of the best known S chassis cars out there.

One belonging to j-rho and one belonging to aceinthehole, I admire both cars and owners and they have given me alot of inspiration to take my time to rebuild my s13 for better things in mind one more time

__________________________________________________________________________

Aceinthehole: 285/30/18 on 18x10 front (I should let him do the post himself hope he doesn't mind, he needs no introductions)

__________________________________________________________________________

J-rho's S13 (another s chassis hero he needs no introduction - but his car sure needed the bn blister widebody :P)

285/30R18 F on 18x11
315/30R18 R on 18x12.5

Needs a bn blinster widebody!

__________________________________________________________________________

For those curious how my car looked when I first restored it:

Car when purchased for 800$ almost undrivable:

Parts that were slowly piling up before restoration:

After the car was all put back together for the first time:

As things stand right now however, my car is completely stripped and I intend to redo it all over again, I'm just slowly again collecting parts, I know what I want, but can't afford it time/money wise at the moment, I have family priorities but I do love this hobby and my car But I love my family first

Yes I know, I don't have fat rubber or wheels, but this is just for those who were bitching attacking me if I even own an S chassis car/etc...

__________________________________________________________________________
As a note:
The last thread went to poo, but I spoke to ThatGuy and he said lets keep it civilized and peaceful -- it'll be cool. Lets not start a retarded war, we are all 240 owners. As soon as I created the other thread people started jumping, bitching and negging. So what? Some people are sick of the slammed/stretched/whatever look. No need for drama... get over it. I acted a little immature myself by buying into the stupid neg reps/hate/stupid comments and saying stupid things back.

But lets make it clear! If you want the stretched and slammed, -10 camber, -100 offset, 100mm spacers, 4" lowered frame scraping, 195 on a 9" 265 on a 12" look and want to prove yours is better and more pimp than the next guy go to the following two links, they are threads related to that trend.

http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=136032&page=13

http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=129865

The point of this thread is to have a thread for people who are NOT for the above and who recognize the above as what they are sick of seeing, because it's turning 240s into the civics of the 90s.... and thus are against this trend... but they are still s chassis owners but are not for drift or show, but instead interested in extracting maximum grip performance out of the s chassis cars... something that the s chassis car was always stated as being incapable of.

To make another thing very clear! In those two stretch/slammed/whatever threads if you post something that is 'not stretched enough' or not slammed/flush enough, you get negged for it, made unwelcome, called names, etc... because you're not cool enough lol... Likewise in this thread, the same applies vice versa. Don't come into here to bitch about it. Go to those two threads instead if you want what was mentioned that this thread is not about instead. Leave the grip/maximum rubber thread alone, no hurt feelings for anyone, no drama, just love

SO LETS KEEP IT PEACEFUL...!

You didn't put down Jason's tire/wheel sizes, which are:
285/30R18 F on 18x11
315/30R18 R on 18x12.5

Don at PDM was running 275/40R17 on the front of his hatch.

My bad, sorry I did not know j-rho's specs, I also don't know aceinthehole's complete specs, so I just mentioned the front sizes as best as I knew. I wouldn't mind if he posted himself here. I just wanted to give people an idea of what this thread is about. If people make their own post, lets follow the format I mentioned in the beginning of the first post. My bad

And thank you

And yes as far as memory recalls when Don ran the 5zigen 17x10+12 wheels (with I think 8mm spacers) he was running 275/40/17 on the front... but 275/40/17 is quite tall so it took him alot of work to get it working... 285/30/18 is almost absolutely perfect, its 2mm taller than stock.

This makes great sense.

Grip diving is fun.

FWIW the front S14 allows 17x9+20 without rubbing coilover. The rest can be calculated on the wheel spec calculator.

^I believe one guy with a silver sil80 runs 17x9+20 with 245/40/17 and it's pretty flush with stock fenders. Looks hot too and its an awesome track car I hope he posts in here Not sure if anyone else rocks the stock fenders and more rubber though. Time will tell. I intend to get aftermarket fenders anyways

YOUR CHASSIS: S14

WHEELS: 5zigen, FN01RC, 17x9 +15, 17x10 +12

TIRES: 255/40/17 front, 315/35/17 rear (not pictured, but now using Nitto 555R DRs)

MISC DETAILS: Chargespeed overfenders 20mm & 50mm. Power ~350whp

PURPOSE OF CAR: street/drag

Most people don't even notice the tires because of how clean the widebody is... with higher offset I could stuff some 335s back there.

Did you mold the fenders to the car? If so, what method? Rivets/bondo or what?

I had a body shop do it, they riveted the fenders on then fiberglassed them in.

You have a drag car. Why do you have 255s up front?

Let's keep this pure, people. NO 205s/215s/225s/235s. Everyone and their mother can rock those on an S13 with no fender modifications at all, and they all happen to be on the small side.

YOUR CHASSIS: S13 coupe

WHEELS: Volk CE28N 17x9 +15
Volk TE37 17x9 +15

TIRES: Bridgestone Potenza RE01-R 245/40R17

MISC DETAILS: Suspension work. Rolled and pulled fenders. Camber at ~3.2* front, ~2.5* rear or something similar. Modified inner seam and pounded out wheel well. Note: +15 won't work in the front of an S13 if you're running KTS coilovers or similar and a 255 width tire. The tire rubs on the perches. The clearance is minimal at +10, but it does not rub.

PURPOSE OF CAR: Street/Track

PICTURES: None of the fitment. The front tires are under the fenders, the rear stick out a bit because a fellow 240er stole my roller.

The only reason I posted this is because people always are asking if 245s or 9s will fit in the front of a 240, despite the fact that there are many, many instances of tires and wheels as big or bigger fitting easily.

The car spends more time on the street than at the track so stopping power is important.

Around -3.2* camber, MrChow. I'm not sure what it is right now, as the car's been futzed with a bit in its downtime.

Nothing special over here but decently wide?

225/40/18 f (going 245/40/18)
255/35/18 r (going 275/35/18)

With NISMO LM GT4 350Z/G35 offsets
18x8.5 +25 f
18x9.5 +30 r (i know they're weak offsets for NISMOs)

Just lowered on springs currently and don't rub anything with no fender mods

CHASSIS- S13 coupe

WHEELS - Work VS-XX/ 17x9 offset ,forget at the moment

TIRES- HANKOOK RS-2 or BRIDGESTONE SO-3. 245-40-17 all around

MISC DETAILS- fenders rolled, fronts pulled, all seams hammered, harness tucked(of course).Hammered the firewall side of wheel well also.

PURPOSE- GRIP ONLY

Quick comment just my opinion only but some of these cars are just plain ugly, yes I know this thred is not about looks . Thats not a flame or anything just my opinion. Next year Im gonna go up to 18s with a 230/650-18 F & a 270/650/18 R on 18x9with 20mm front wide fenders & 30mm rear overfenders, then cut & move the rear shocktower up,kinda like a body drop. O YEA

What would you guys think of this setup?

Chassis- s13
Front fenders - 20mm Origin
Rear Fenders - Stock + pulled
Wheels - 17 x 9 +0

225/45 Front
255/40 Rear

I do not want a raked look. I am currently running 215/40 front (stretched and cambered in with factory fenders) and 225/45 rears with a nice pull and still have atleast 15mm of clearance till I hit the fender. I will pull more if i have to. My goal is mainly street traction as this car does not get tracked any more due to all the paint and body work going on it.

New setup, complete with garbage pics:

Enkei RPF-1, 17x9 +22
Falken RT-615s, 255/40/17

Pretty beefy, and not a problem to fit. The fronts BARELY touched spring perches of Apexi World Sports, but I threw a 5mm spacer on and all was well... could have gotten away with like a 2mm spacer and had enough room. Once I get the Konis on there shouldn't be any clearance issues.

I didn't get a chance to drive it since the car has a dead battery, but I'd probably have to tweak the front fenders a bit or add a little more camber (currently -2.5) so they don't rub until full load. Without the spacer, I probably wouldn't have to.

As a side note, these are lighter per wheel than my buddy's 17x7s with 205/40/17s on them.

Chassis: S14
Wheels: Work Emotion CR Kai, 17x9 +17
Tires: Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R, 245/40/17
Purpose of Car: Track/Autocross/Street

Notes: EASY fit for an S14. Mild roll in both front and rear and -2.5 camber F and -2.0 R. Car isn't slammed, but it could be with more fender work and camber. Plenty of inboard space for more tire.

For my s14 I'm looking for a wheel and tire combination. I'm thinking of going with a 17x9. I plan to roll the fenders, but I do not want to pull them and I do not want to run much camber either, the less, the better. Going for a nice semi flush look against the car, no poking, or gay stretched tire. I love the look of Spool_sample's zenki, I think its perfect, but I would like to have mine just a little lower. I have stance coils with stance rucas. Up front I also have z32 brakes. What would be a good setup ? 17x9 + lower or higher offset? Same size tire ? 245/40/17? Hoping one of guys could help me out!
