how to jump a s14 power window motor

hello, i think my power window motor/solinoid took a crap.
I attached a wire from the positive battery terminal to the 2 wire connector going to the motor (on the passenger side door skin), I tried both of the terminals (1 goes up and 1 goes down) and neither one of them worked.

Am I jumping the window motor correctly? If so, I guess the motor is dead?

thanks!

Did you remember to attach a wire to the negative battery terminal as well?

I don't think you're jumping it correctly. On my old s13 i had to put power to the window AMP. I believe the AMP works the same way as having a relay. I'm not 100% sure if this is right, but i tried different variations in that 2 wire plug (i didn't care about the motor), and i remember i had to put power in one wire, while grounding the other (**NOT SURE**) and switching it around would do the opposite to the window. Again, i'm not sure about this, so don't try it yet. Do a bit more research and you'll find what i'm talking about.

If you look at the plug for the Window motor itself (2 Wires), unplug it from the main harness and run a positive current to one wire and ground to the other. Switching the positive / ground will make it either go up or down.

This. If you simply run power to one wire the circuit is still open. Blue/red stripe to 12+ and blue to negative is down. Blue to 12+ and blue/ red stripe to negative is up. I do this everytime I drive my car with a electric impact battery.
