Manual transmission question

Anybody ever pull a stock shifter out of the trans ? Having trouble getting it back in

it should just slide back in with some wiggling. If i remember correctly, you should have the plastic bushing at the end of the shifter, then the plastic cap that sits on the top of the round ball of the shifter ( if that makes sense) and lastly you have the snap ring.

just insert the shifter back into the trans, till the plastic cap seats, then with some snap ring pliers ( or needle nose and flat head screw drivers) insert the snap ring in and it'll be good to go homie!

Sometimes the plastic bushing gets cocked a little off...that could be causing issues...

Got the shifter back in properly now just have to get both snap rings in, looks like the larger one of the two fits in the groove only and the smaller snap ring is kinda a shim
