I just put those on. On 255/40 NT-05 I was spinning through 3rd. In the cold it would spin in 4th gear.

It's been raining but I will update on that in a few days.

I run 245s all around with a 9 +35 in back, 9 +25 in front (+35 with a 10mm spacer) on my daily. It doesn't qualify for this thread, but it looks pretty mild. The 255 setup on my coupe admittedly looks better, though.
well im looking for "square" as possible all around, but without rubbing the crap out of my fenders when i turn or take dips. im not looking for the hellastupid fitment setup, but for something that functions well with rolled fenders and minimum camber. i really dont want to have to pull anything also.

im looking at a set of 17x9 +25 wheels on ebay right now. theyre rotiform twisted 5 knock offs, but im not looking to dump $2000 on wheels. the car is my daily and i have other places that money needs to go at the moment! but yeah, again... I want to run as close to square on the 17x9 +25s on my s13, but without having to modify/pull the crap out of my already rolled fenders!

also, will a +25 clear my fortune autos properly?

FA seems to have tighter clearance than most.

My friend has 500s with 9 +15 and it doesn't clear in front without a spacer. But my koni 86s clear at 17x9 +25 no problem.

I have fa 500's on my s13 with 17x9 +15 and 255/40 dunlop z2's and it clears front and rear. It's tight but it clears without a spacer... Pics of the front:

Yeah sorry. I checked with him and he doesn't have to run a spacer but does.

edit: snapped a quick pic of 245s on 17x9 +35. Like I said, doesn't qualify for this thread.

Soooooooooo after seeing this, Ive just had more fuel thrown on the fire to the idea I came up with a while back. I want to redo ALL of my suspension to one single brand. I was planning on going with D-Max for everything. Not saying they are the top shit, but its convenient having a company who produces everything for S-Chassis suspension.

But the entire reason Im posting this, does anyone in this thread have any experience with their inner wheel clearance. The whole point of me buying new wheels is for proper fitment with as square fitment as possible. I dont want to rock a ton of camber because that completely defeats the purpose! So yeah, does anyone know of the wheel to spring clearance on DMax coils is the same as the Fortunes shown above?

Actually, one other good question that just came to mind in regards to the photo above... When you mounted your coilovers, did you have the tilt adapaters on the coilover mounts set so you add another degree of camber via the hub itself? Or did you set it outwards to remove camber at the hub?

I want to say I had it tilted in at the perch for more camber, BUT I don't remember exactly because it's been over a year. And I'm over 3.5 hours away from my s13 at the moment, so I can't go verify.

no worries... i appreciate the input

im probably going to wind up converting everything on my car over to D-Max (or possibly Stance) as Id like all my parts to match!

anyone else have any input on 17x9 +25 on an s13 with coilovers?

Buy parts with 5/8" rod ends instead of metric.

That's my $0.02.

17x9 +25 should fit fine, just not with FAs in front, and will take some fender work if you're low. If you run a 235 f/r you should be ok.

Tried some friends wheels on today, they fit absolutely perfect IMO.

Fronts: 18x9.5 +12 245 40r18
Rear: 18x10.5 +15 275 40r18
The fronts fit perfect with a little camber, sit fender to lip almost and compress up into the fender nicely. Rears could be a tiny bit wider and still be fine.
30mm wide front fenders 50mm rears.

Looks good... you could definitely go wider on those overs though. A 305 on a 12" wheel would not be a problem with 50mm overs. Likewise, a 255 or maybe even a 265 up front on a 10" or 10.5" wheel.

I would like to go wider but the front was already cambered more than I would have liked it to be. The rear could definitely come out a bit. Plans were to run 18x12 +20 18x9.5 +15 so I think that'd work out depending on tire sizes. It was more cambered than it looks in the pics.

Yeah, I wasn't implying that you could run those tire sizes on those wheels with those offsets. You would need completely different wheel specs to properly pull off the tire sizes I suggested. It still looks pretty damn good though. If you were to run those wheels, I would just run a small spacer out back and call it a day.

oh yeah i understand that. I can get this exact setup for extremely cheap and put money towards finishing other small details of the car then go nuts in the future, which is probably what ill do.

275/40/18? you sure you didn't want to do 35 profile? 40 profile on a 275/18 is quiet tall!

best setup for my S14 so far is what I have now.
18x9.5+15 255/35/18
18x10+38 265/35/18

such grip, so push, much fast cornering

and I would suggest you do 255/35/18's in front as well, about same amount of tire patch as 245's, except it fits better so you don't have to have so much camber/rubbing issues.

http://www.rimtuck.com/search/thumbn...allf=35&sort=1

check out some pictures of cars with said tire sizes on the link above. useful tool.

You're going to want more gap than that from your coil. Under hard acceleration/squat those tires will hit.

Is the S14 similar to an S15? Or does it gain 10mm or so width like 13 to 14?

There needs to be more s13s in here!

Anyone have any clearance issues with a 255/40/17 on a 17x9.5 +18 on the front of an s13? Im not worried about the fender, more worried about clearance in the 'tub' of the fender. With the car on the ground it looks pretty close in a few spots haha.

Don't hold me to this, but I think the body of the s15 is narrower than the s14 over the rear wheels so you can not fit as wide of a tire.

The rear subframes are nearly identical - except for a couple small reinforcement pieces welded on.

best setup for my S14 so far is what I have now.
18x9.5+15 255/35/18
18x10+38 265/35/18

such grip, so push, much fast cornering

and I would suggest you do 255/35/18's in front as well, about same amount of tire patch as 245's, except it fits better so you don't have to have so much camber/rubbing issues.

check out some pictures of cars with said tire sizes on the link above. useful tool.
Not sure why im just now seeing this. But id like to run wider in the front than whats pictured. id like to run a 255 35 18 in the front and keep a 275 40 18 in the back, its tall but i like that meat it looks good for what im going for. but back to the fronts, the 18x9.5+12 with a 245 40 is cutting it close, id like to run a 255 35 18 on a 18x9.5 but the struggle is finding the right offset to clear my brakes and coils... hmmmmmm

motoman159,
I had 245/40/18's on my 18x9.5+15's in front before..It was too much trouble with fitment and the 255/35/18's fit much better then the 245/40's do. and if the 245/40's are clearing your coilovers right now the 255/35's will deff clear. and as far as brakes goes...

My RPF1's clear the 370Z Akebono front brakes with ease(about 15mm gap from spokes to caliper). Good luck finding 3pc wheels that'll clear BBK in 18". one of the reason why I just stayed RPF1's.

honestly, im going to cheap out on wheels, no point in spending a ton of money on wheels when i could put it towards money to finishing my car and get it on the road. probably varrstoens es3 or es2 in 18x9.5 +22 18x10.5 +22 and call it a day. Thanks for the help, pm sent for more info.
