Go with a 255/40/17 in the front and a 275/40/17 in the rear if you want to go as wide as you can with commonly available sizes. For a more realistic, and easier to fit, fitment go with a 235/40/17 in the front and a 255/40/17 in the rear. I am running 235/40/17 ra1's on my 9" wide track wheels right now and I wouldn't say there is any stretch, just a bit under-square. No matter what you will need either wide fenders or a healthy pull. I pulled mine to clear the 17x9 +12's all around, but it wasn't easy.

Dunlop direzza z1 star specs. Get them.........
I've been hearing good things from the FR/MR time attack community about running nitto NT-05r, starspecs up front. same heating times roughly, and the grip on the NT-05's seem to deal with a staggered setup really well, making the car extremely predictable in varying heat conditions. Rather than starspec rears being pretty ambient temperature sensitive.

i was planning on going 255/40 18 on my 18x9+17 wheels
my car has rolled fenders in the front and rear, would it be better for me to go 255/35 18 instead?

edit: i was planning on getting federal 595's i hear they run really tall compared to other tires.

OK, been following this thread for a little while, and want to run this setup for my S13 by you guys. I want to order some wheels and tires for the upcoming autox and hpde season and get my a$$ on the track! After reading this thread I have come up with this: FN01R-c's 17x10 +35 in the rear with a 275's and 17x9 +35 with a 10mm spacer up front running 255's. reason being, I didn't want the front to have a wider trac than the rear. wouldn't that promote understeer? Fill me in if I'm wrong.

here's my setup thus far

18x9 +24 Mustang Y2K Cobras

255/35/18 G-force sports

Fenders- fronts have been pulled
rears stock for now but i can probably by with just a roll

The tires are pretty square with the wheels
better pics later after the engine's in and cleaned up.

looking to fit a 10-10.5 rear wheel on the back of my s13 hatch, plan on purchasing some 30 mm rear over fenders and having a shop install/mold them, with the right backspacing would 10.5s fit? thanks for any input.

Holy shit 315? That's fucking wide!

My s13 silvia needs better fitment. Right now, it fails hard. What is a good wheel size for stock body, with only roll. Maybe a little pull in the rear. im thinkin 18x9? what offset should i look for? Even 17x9 would be good. Need offsets here people! as far as tire sizes go, im not looking for super stretch. Mild stretch at best.

If you want stretch I would check out the wheel fitment thread. The backspacing recommendations between the two crowds(stretch vs no-stretch) are usually a little different.

Ok guys here is my dilemma on my s14 project. My wheels are 18 x 9.5 +24's and luckily I ordered the tires in pairs. So I wanted to see just how wide I can go in the fronts so I tried to mount my 275/35's and this is what I got... LMAO-

Fronts look like Im going with 245/40's and some mild rolling and maybe some pulling. I also have to add like 10-15mm spacers to clear my z brakes. The 275's definately arent fitting with factory fenders. Unless you guys have some advice for me.

Rears look like just a light roll and barely a pull once I put coilovers on.

One more for refrence-

I could get those to fit. I would need a hammer, a small piece of 2x4, a wood baseball bat, and a fender roller to touch it up. It won't be perfectly pretty, but it'll get er done! LOL!

you seriously thought stock fenders would accommodate the 275's up front without modifying them?

Your fenders look like just a roll in that pic? What is the wheel spec for your front wheel? I know your running a 275/40 front, but what offset? I love your stance? Are you cambered all the way in as well?

Subtract camber. Looks pretty static right there. Might be able to tuck them in there.

I made some minor corrections to my posts in this thread back on page 26. The corrections are in my build thread

You can read the corrections by following this link, and scrolling towards the bottom of the page:
http://zilvia.net/f/tech-talk/147301...gto-pan-8.html

"From my max rubber post (max backspace is about the same on both s13 and s14)
MAX backspace Front~ 150-159mm
MAX backspace Rear~ 172-179mm

Max Frontspace with stock fenders with R+P:
S13 Front 95-105
S13 Rear 80-95
S14 Front 109-116
S14 Rear 97-117 (107 really is perfect with a good r+p)"

If the car is getting painted just beat the shit out of the fenders and have the bodyshop clean it up. You can make it look like widefenders, it'll just be a bit rough so you just have the bodyshop finish it off. If you are scared to beat the crap out of your fenders in the name of ginormous rubber you really have no place in this thread.

LMAO some of us like driving a car which doesnt look like it was thrown together by a 16 year old kid desperate to drive their car fast. Dents and hammered in fenders just dont sound like a good time to me. I pulled about 30mm on my s13 and dont really care how it looks as that is my track car. Now if I could get my hands on a roller I would definately pull them to fit.

guy! All he is saying is dent it and widen it... but then since you are getting the car repainted ANYWAYS get the body shop to clean it up and when its repainted itll look brand new but wider... sheesh how hard is that to understand/do... the whole point is you are going in a paintshop in a week anyways.. so who cares? Perfect opportunity to widen...

This is the way wrong thread to be asking stretch questions in! Completely backwards as a matter of fact. Go look through the wheel fitment thread or the tire stretch thread. DO NOT waste everyone's time and make another post like this. The answers are all out there if you do a little research. Here on zilvia we frown upon lazy asses that ask stupid questions without even doing a little bit of research.

These just got dropped off today, looks like ill need a 5-10mm spacer for the fronts and a 25mm spacer for the rear, that sound about right? Car still has unmodified fenders for the moment(planning on 30mm rear over fenders once the ls1 gets dropped in). What size tires can i go with? from my research it looks like i can fit 245's front and rear, but id like to fit something a little bigger if possible. Thanks for any input.
