At first i wanted to go with 18's all around but didn't know how the fitment would be without having excessive camber or pulling/overs. If my cash flow was a little better i wouldn't really care about all that.

I guess i'm leaning on the 17x9.5's because of the possibility of rotating for longer tire life. Altho i think it would look better with the staggered tire setup on same size rim, so i'm not really opposed to that idea yet either since they would be cheaper than if i had to buy tires for 18x10's.

I do like the 17/18 stagger also. I have pics saved somewhere that i came across throughout my searches of a red kouki tucking 17x9.5 235/40 front and 18x10 225/40 rears and a zenki that is the color of mine sitting flush on 17/18

17/18 might still be an option i guess. Any 18x10 on stock rear metal that i have see looks like they have a hella stretched tire and about 2.5* camber tho. I'm guessing that's the only way 18x10's would fit (which i would rather not have to do)

My other choice was a setup like Mad-ass had with his old rpf1 17's but i decided i like the xd-9's better

Still have some deciding to do i guess.

If staggered 17/18 isnt your thing, 18x10 +18 all around wouldnt be a bad thing either. Just might have to run some spacer up front, depending on what coilover you're running. Rolling/pulling the fenders isnt really hard. Heating the metal and taking it slow are your friends.

I tried searching and if I looked right over it I appologize.

Looking for some pictures of a stock fender s14 running 18x10 +0 all around.. I don't mind running alot of camber up front with stretch. Was thinking that a 215/35 would be about right.

Current setup is stance gr+ pros and all adjustable arms.

If I absolutely have to get overs that'd be fine id just rather not right now.

Thanks!

You looked in rimtuck? Its possible to fit those, just have to do some pulling. The more you pull it, the less camber you'd have to run.

Thanks ill check it out.
I'm assuming that an 18x9.75 at -5 would just very slightly be more aggressive?

Can get welding done no prob just want to know if it's a bitch to do so I know how much beer and hugs to provide to fabricating friends :P

Haha, my friend Danny (RE-Spec Garage) did the cutting. He had a plasma cutter....so it was like a hot knife through butter. Then the rest was only slightly more involved then just doing tubs. I know he had to hammer some of the metal around so it was flat and tack welded some thick sheet metal back in.

The cutting would be the biggest pain in the ass of the whole process. If you don't have a plasma cutter expect it to take a little while and suck.

19s were a pain to fit on a S15....so 20s are probably a total bitch to fit (I mean actually tuck) on a S13.

so im going to be getting some SBC RPF1's at the beginning of next month.

size is 18x9.5 +15 all around.

what do i need to wrap them in for them to fit without rubbing?

i have stock fenders, stance gr+ pro coils, and im at "legal height". aka not very low.

i was thinking 245/40/18 using Nitto NT 555 Extreme Performance. is 40 the proper height for s14's? like will it throw the speedo off?
anyone know a good tire size for me to run with minimal to no stretch? also if you know of a good tire for drifting, that will last a good amount of time (i know its kind of contradictory) because this is my DD.

most of the drifting i do is just hit it and quit it parking lots, though i plan on going to Udrift in LV a couple times a year.

245/40-18 is huge for your cars...look up a tire calculator, punch in the OEM sizing of 205/55-16 and compare the two. Per the tire calculator I use from Miata.net...your speedo will show that you're going slower than what you're really going. At 60 mph, you'd actually be doing 62.

With 18x9.5 +15, you'd have to either run some camber or you'd have to work the fenders. If you're planning on 245 widths, they'll stick out at with no camber on untouched fenders.

Well if I can run 235s or even 225s without stretching then that would be better. I just don't want stretched tires. If its required though, I'd like it to be minimal. I have -.75 camber in front and -3 in the rear

this is my 225-40s on a 18x9.5+10 and the all ready slightly pulled fender sits on the tire pretty much with my camber plates maxed

Ive all ready had issues with slight rubbing at full lock so now that I went lower I wasnt even able to turn at all/drive at all at this height so Im kinda torn between pulling the fenders/beating the innerwells in some or would downsizing tires to either 215/40 215/35 negate the need for anymore fender work?

here it is before the new drop

You can leave it at that height if you want, max out the front camber, throw on some 5mm spacers since itll sink it but it should leave the fender alone unless you drive it hard.

His plates are maxed out....although he can dremel out the top hole on the coil perch a little and probably gain plenty of camber.

Reverse your camber settings. -3 in the front is awesome if you plan on driving the car hard. That will possibly allow you to run more tire up front since you don't want the stretch look. I have been running -2 to -3 up front for years now strictly for how much better the car handles corners. Running about -1.5 out back just to clear my rear fenders without having to work them too much.
Plus side to that, my front tires last longer than I have ever expected, mainly due to how a McPhearson strut suspension system like ours works.

Good Luck with fitting your new shoes.

Been searching the wheel fitment thread forever but can't find this.

11j +21 clear on the inside of a s13 with coilovers?

10j +6 going to hit arms at full lock on the inside of the front?

thanks

How much camber should I run on stock body s14, work emitz 18x10.5 +7 in the rear with 235 40 tires? I'm Macedonia out now and don't like the look.... I'm thinking 1.5 or 2 degrees. Input would be great. Thanks for sharing the knowledge you guys have.

no one has recommended a tire to me yet or even a size. if i go 245 how much of a roll will i need? swapping my camber isnt really possible, as i dont have RUCAS. i COULD increase it in the front, but i want good tread wear.

I didnt recommend you tires because I showed you how to figure it out on your own. Its all gonna come down to how low the car is and what you can adjust with your alignment. 245/40-18 is going to be ENORMOUS for stock S-chassis. 245/35-18 is close to stock diameter. Better yet, 225/40-18 or 255/35-18 is right on with stock. So the question now is, do you want to stretch tires and make it look like it fits on the stock fenders or go wide and make the tires stick out pass the fenders?

How much you should run is based on what you want to do with the car/want it to look like. The question is how much are you going to need to run to clear fenders and that just depends on your pull, I can almost guarantee its going to be a good bit more than 1.5-2 degrees though.

So the question now is, do you want to stretch tires and make it look like it fits on the stock fenders or go wide and make the tires stick out pass the fenders?
according to the miata.net tire calculator, it seems 245/35/18 is the closest it will get to stock. so im wondering how much of a stretch that will be, and how well they will fit. i don't want it poking, but i don't want it to be stretched too much. will a good fender roll be enough for clearance and to rid me of any poke?

Ty ichiban. I'm probably gonna run 3 degrees in the rear. And I'm not making alot of power so I should be good. Maybe 210 HP. And im doing it for looks... Love stretched tires. I'm guessing i should get cambe set with stock wheels on then try to fit my emitz?

9.5j x 25.4 = 241mm. 245 should look square on the wheel. You'd be hard pressed to find good 245/35-18 tires.
