What would a base model black '96 5 speed go for off the showroom floor? is there any website that gives prices of cars when they were new? i'm thinkin they were in the high teens. maybe 18K

My 89 went for something like $22,000 Canadian... I actually have the check copies from the original owner!

Two checks, one for the down payment, which was something like $2000, and the other for the balance, which was like $19,xxx.

Car and Driver's semi-loaded '89 fastback tester was $16,108... a good deal against the Probe GT or the Prelude Si apparently:
http://www.240sx.org/links....896.jpg

Their loaded '95 SE test car was estimated at $23k:
http://www.240sx.org/links....946.jpg

Inflation accounts for much of that difference, but the S13 was relatively cheaper, hence it sold better.

Just clarification. =)

My car has no ABS, no VLSD, and NO AUTO thank god...

And it had a 28k sticker!! I doubt that was the price paid, however. =)

I still have the original window sticker for my car and it was listed for $26252. Good thing it wasn't that much when I bought it, there would be no way I would pay that kind of money for this car.

Yeah! My sentiments exactly... No way in hell is my car worth 28k!!! Especially not 5 years ago, but I can always tell people I roll around in a 30k dollar car hahah (but I don't) lol cause. .they'd go "What makes it 30k?" I'd be like "well, the color scheme looks like it was designed by StarBucks, and that's kinda cool" haha

Yup - my window sticker was low $24K range for a 95 SE w/ mnrf, premium stereo, 5 sp., no lsd, no abs.

GEE - I WONDER WHY SO FEW WERE SOLD AND THEY QUIT IMPORTING THEM?

Does anybody ever remember seeing any advertisement on the 240's? I would love to see a 240 commercial or magazine ad. It would be more cool than the cool smiley

what i paid

i paid 4500 back in july 2001 for my 92 fastback 5speed, not an se though, it had only 49k, hehe, and had not been driven for about a year and a half .... so i had to break it in when i got home .... the interior is like new almost and the body was in perfect shape when i got it until school started i got 2 freakin major dents where some a**holes hit me .... one on the back and one on the door .... they are not too noticable but you can see them from a distance .....

I still have a copy of the original title for my 91 fastback when it was sold used with 4500 miles in the summer of 91. Sticker price for an LE was $19,000 and some change.

My S14 was an abandoned child who was put up for auction in a pig sty...before me, the owner used it as a company car and drove about 19K a month before being unable to make anymore payments....when I got it, it had 47K on it and the guy was selling it for $8700....he bought it from a police auction....

It's auto (just need a better torque converter), no LSD (damn, must learn to DRIFT!), yet is still extremely fun to drive.
