Didnt find it nearly as effective as a heat gun and fender roller Heres the first roll I did on my fastback without a heat gun. Came out a little crappy. Ill post up the roll and slight pull I did on my coupe next which came out amazing later 17x9 +22 with spacer(dont remember the size) 235/40 |

Newspaper pulls are only done after the initial pull is done. People do newspaper pulls just to get that extra 1mm or 2 you need to keep the fender from rubbing the lettering off the tire

Or in my case, hitting the wheels' lips.

I know what you mean. When youre low enough its no longer a game between fender and tire clearance but fender and wheel clearance. At that point stretching the tire more does nothing.
Newspaper pulls are good for business card fitment where not even a credit card clears.

I might not be able to run it like that, just cause I still have some rubber bushings in the rear subframe and the uprights, so there might just be enough give to actually hit the fenders. Now if I had solid everything, then fuck yeah, I'm running it like that. *disclaimer* that's not on the ground, but it'll be close to that when it is on the ground. 18x10.5 +7 in that pic, with shitastic old Kumho 712s in 245/40/18. |

People should really start posting the Brand and Model of the tire as well. As most of us know, actual sizing between differant brands can change up to a full tire size. This would eliminate more PM's and questions as well.

Do PM's really bug you that much? I usually do not even know the tire brand I use because I buy used tires and go threw them quite often. I don't think there should be a rule of do not post unless you have a tire brand make model a/s/l.... Just post it if you know it.
SRS/ Sosideways At the point you are at though you are not going for the stretched "hella flush/flush" thing you are going for a tucked look like what bags or slammed hondas give you. And I say that in a non insulting way. Just stating its a different style. I would have to say scraping the inner lip of the wheel and letters of the tire is perfect. Ever since I lowered mine more It scraps around harder corners and gives me a big rubbery one. 14x10 -40 185/60 No I wasn't using a 10" wheel for the newspaper pull, it was a 8" wheel and I tried a phone book and news papers. But that technique I seem to have had the wrong idea of what it is used for.

No no no...
My wheels' lips will pretty much sit right there by the fender, just barely poking. Those pics were just there to show that under compression, I will tuck rim, so it's flush all the way We'll see though.... when the car gets back on the ground, I'll finalize ride height/fitment and then take more pics. |

1. Unbolt the rear suspensoin 2. Jack the car up 3. heat the fenders hot hot hot 4. Put your required thickness paper on top of the tire 5. Drop the car on the tire (If you have an S14 you might need some friends to jump in the trunk, since the fender metal is thicker.) Done. BTW, why in the world would you want to run a 185?

Because it has the look/stretch I like and is easily available. Not to mention 185/60 is cheap and are always at the used tire yards. Why not?

I am guessing my ride height is actually lower, but the reason I am not tucking is I am on 14s. Also I have much more aggressive wheels. If they were 18s I would need some crazy camber and pull to tuck it.
I think you are somewhat right, with the camber curve but if he had 18x10 -44 it would not be tucking.

Way to much talking going on in this thread. Fitment is mexican but I am in the process of a heart transplant so the wheels fitting is not important at the moment.
Gulf Stich Evolutions F: 18x10 -1 215/40/18 in the front iirc. R: 18x11 -1 245/40/18 in the rear Beastmode's old wheels. |

Then why post? Post up when you fit those wheels. It'll look sick.
