I have an S14b and was rear ended about 3 months ago.  I got hit by an 85' Blazer going 65MPH and I was stopped because some jackass was stopped in the middle of the highway.  I'm surprised how the car held up because visible damage didn't cross my rear windshield.  I got is fixed, which cost $12,000, now my question is what are your alls thoughs about frame straightening because that's what they did.  Should I sell or not?

Amazed the insurer's did'nt total it. If you sell it you won't get the bluebook value because of the frame repair, you'll probably lose a huge chunk of what u put into it. How badley was the frame bent. Once a frame is bent it will never be the same. It lose's a little stiffness and might cause more chassis flex. If it was'nt that bad then it won't be that big of a deal. I know i would'nt buy a car that had frame work though.

whats an s14b?
I knew there were s14 and s14a (with the more aggressive front-which i`ve got mmmmmmmmmm) but s14b?

if it was me, i wouldve asked for the cash value right away.  too late now.  i would sell it, but if the frame was fixed by a specialist, it is structurally fine.  it all depends on who did the repair

Elite AutoBody in Escondido, CA did the work and the work was pretty impressive.  They bought me a whole new rear end as far as the internals and bumper.  They claim that it would be stronger than stock because they say that manufacturers allow up to 2% error as far as straightness and their systems can get it to 0%.  I was kind of iffy about frame straightening, but I think they did a good job.  The car feels very firm still.  I'm just afraid that when I get the SR swap and I'm hugging corners, it will break in half on me or something, but they do have a lifetime warranty on it though.

As far as getting cash value for it, insurance need it to be 80% of the value of the car for it to be called a total.  At the time, the blue book on the car was $18,000 and it needed to be at $16,400.  It only got up to $12,000 though.  The frame wasn't really bent, just the one that connects to the trunk.  Still driftable?
