a 225 like the first guy said is less than a mild stretch just slightly rounded.. especially with 40 or 45 series .

'wow it made a difference. thanks to Handinpants (steve) I have a question i need some advice for tonight!!! ill post it below the pictures! PAssenger Driver Pose backside ASS I wanted advice from the experts only[IMG] on what new size to get i am going to buy tomorrow, and wanted some help..currently i have: 18x9 225/40/18 front cant go lower without rubbing and damaging fender, but is not flush. 18x10.5 with 235/40/18 is flush but tire is rubbing on inner fender and i wanna reduce camber for more grip but cant without rubbing even more i was thinking of going with 215/35/18 and 225/35-40/18. does this sound ideal? thanks for any help ahead... only guys with experience swapping lots of different tire sizes and stretches for firment please!

There I fixed those for you. You have to use the [IMG] tags from photobucket. Offset? Spacers?

I was iffy about that green in the first pic, but looking at the rest it actually doesn't look half bad. Definitely not bad at all.

im about to get 18x9.5+12s
on stance coilovers and S14... ive been going thru the wheel fitment thread and im trying to decide between: 215/35 225/40 235/40 right now im leaning toward the 225/40. would i be more likely to rub with the 235/40? im thinking 225 and 235 isnt that much of a difference and the 225s are cheaper. or should i go with more tire and get the 235 also is 215/35 not wide enough? lindsey on Ziptied says that 215/35s could work on an S14 (im considering these cus on CityTireOnline the FK452s are cheap in the 215/35 size and then theres a price jump going to 225/40)

What? What fender mods are you going to do? What are you using the car for? How much camber do you have/want? What sort of suspension geometry correction do you have? These are all important when doing wheel fitment...

I'm running a 17X10 +7 up front with a 245/40 on a S14 with hammered fenders. I also beat the ever living shit out of my fender wells, but I don't rub on anything.
I'd get 235/40s all around personally. Especially if you're getting Falken tires, they run a little more narrow then other tires. If you go with Federals get 225/40s, as they run a little wide. I think running a 215/40 or 215/35 on a 9.5 wheel is retarded if you plan on actually using the car for anything - unless you're trying to drift with a stock KA. If you're trying to take the collars out of your coilovers and flip the bracket around then get 225/40s up front and put 235/40s out back. If you're just trying to lower the coilovers all the way down with maybe one or two collars out then get 235/40s all around.

What offsets are you wheels? You appear to have widebody, I'm running 17X10 +7 and 11 +12 on my stock bodied S14 with 245/40s up front and 255/40s out back without any rubbing issues (the fronts are hammered and the rears are slightly pulled). My car is not quite as low as yours is up front - but my rear is easily as low as yours (I don't have aero and am on 17s). I was having some minor problems with rubbing out back. I pulled my fenders a hair more and took a sledge hammer to the inner fender and have fixed all of my rubbing problems. I am running ~-2 camber out back btw. I can understand how a smaller tire will give you what you need out back, but I don't see a need to run a tire as small as you're suggesting up front. Have you thought of trying a 225/35 or 215/40 rather then jumping all the way to a 215/35? That size tire is significantly smaller then what you're running now. A 215/40 should be just a little shorter then your 225/40 and it will be more stretched so it'll give you the clearance you'll need on your fender to go lower. I just think a 215/35 is going to be overkill. Your aero is extremely aggressive and will most likely end up on the ground from you lowering your car enough to fill the fender gap a 215/35 will leave.

Please stop all the unnecessary picture quoting....
Also, 2" sticking out while the wheels don't have tires on them, nor are the wheels sitting where they're supposed to sit when the car's lowered on the wheels off of a jack stand... You can't "determine your wheel fitment" that way man. |
