its been a little while since my last update but heres where i am now.
my steering has been acting up lately, not only was the rack complete poo, the pump was screaming as well. i did this on two separate days. so it might not look right. but oh well. i swapped the pump over first. and i guess i forgot to take finished pictures. but here it is. i was told it was under 50k miles. so i was like. eh. old one off and thats it from that day. i have no idea why... hahaha anyway. on to the rack. up on the jack stands and ready removed the tie rod ends unbolted the lines and wheel ujoint. old and poopy out. now at this point i was like yea, almost done. WRONG. the end links that didnt look to bad werent the right size. so i had to make a trip down to rorirleirys. to pick up some new ones. new rack going in. new rack on. from there i did a at home toe adjustment, turned out really well. added fluid and topped it off. drove it around a little. and thats about it for now. oh hahaha one more. this was from all the hail we were supposed to get. ninja thanks for helping me out today vinny! |

yea it blows. but insurance more than covered the cost of the car. it was his fault so i didnt have to deal with anything other than getting a fatty check. so im not complaining.

so now that i finally figured out what im doing. the gray car wasnt all that bad it just needed more work than i wanted to do, the red car ended up being in much better condition. so i pulled the parts i needed of the gray car and got to work on red today. it was a bit hot so i only started to pull everything broken off. side note, i dont this those fenders had ever been removed before. kinda bummed me out. but im going to finish pulling everything off the front end thats broken and decide if i am going to semi tube, or just replace and throw a couple braces on.
ill do some more work over this weekend and get it moved to the house when someone buys the gray car. and if i can get it at least running well before the next drift event. i will be drifting. if not it will be the one after. |

ok since we last left off. ive gotten the rest of the extra stuff pulled off the car, moved it to my place, and have just began cutting. now i can weld (not great but i can hold a bead) and ok at math. but i am no way shape or form ready to tackle the tubeish front end on the car. so i subcontracted out the help of my father.
but heres some pics of the so far. heres still up at the warehouse just pulling parts off got it moved to my place and got started. marked all the plugs and carefully removed all the engine harness up top. got all the body harness out of the way and im only following a couple rough marks right now, im taking back to the shock towers and keeping all the lower support. but heres where i stopped because it was getting dark. also, as i do this i realize that all the harness obviously wont be going back to the same place. ive done semi tucks before but nothing this large, which its just more wires so im not crazy concerned. i will be necessity tucking. so it will be a cleaner bay and not as many hazards. more updates as they arrive. |

don't fuck up on this new one and ditch the wheel gap. and if you can't drive with it low, then you suck a driving. i'm not saying lay it on the belly, so don't come back with "herrafrush is for fags".

Not like it matters compared to the rest of your quality build, but the door insert would work out a lot better if you took it all apart and wrappe the fabric/material around the foam part.
I did this on my galant. Took the panel completely apart, wrapped it, reattached everything... bam. Regardless, nasty doors or not, your build looks great.

I would if it came apart that far. Those are all one piece homie. Thanks for the compliments. I'll redo the door cards in the future and make them nicer but I'm ok with them for now

ok so i have been massively slacking in the picture dept. i broke it out last night while me and chris were waking up the neighborhood but it was dead. the motor starts up instantly and runs like a dream. there is yet a lot to do. major thing is to address the front end. ill get to that shortly.
my tuck is 95% finished, i traced down my high/low running/signal lights tonight. all that needs done now is for me to run them when the front end is complete. i need to do a small amount of reworking to make sure the fuse boxes will end up in the glove box. but all is well otherwise. here is motor the morning after i got it, and empty bay in the backround heres a little after i started on the interior. quick shot of the motor relaxing like a boss hoss interior as of this moment. i would stay on it longer but lighting blows. friday i have a halfday at work though and will have all the interior back in as well as, new fuel pump, heater hoses ran, exhaust on, some small vacuum lines. i have yet to order a rad but will be getting one soon shitty video here. i know its dark. but its running. crappy night video rb20det 240sx s13 - YouTube Last edited by andrew600; 01-14-2013 at 08:30 PM.. i had some awesome fun with this wire tuck and im glad its over, heres the basic end result. some minor things will change but this is it.
and here is after most of the interior is back in. still have to chop the glove box to cover the fuxe boxes. starting to cut away everything here it is with a basic rough cut, still have a lot of cleaning up to do but its it at its basics. side shot, and threw on a fender for a quick visual. Nice.
Epic build man. How hard is removing/replacing ALL the interior. I just got a 93 hatch. Its black with some nasty tan interior. Was it a huge hassle or was it just common sense stuff?

its common sense but if you arent careful you can break a lot, and a bolt catcher and good memory would help too.
i think from start to finish and having everything out it took me about 1.5 hours. |

got some parts in. still waiting on some tiny minor stuff, but for the most part just need to bust ass on the front end. got the mounts welded on today and main supports bent. those are going on tomorrow. if all is well we may try to get the rad mounted and throw some coolant in. heres whats in so far.
waiting on coolant adapter and i cant remember what else, but im sure it will show up eventually. took some pics of the front today but waiting to get a little more progress before i throw up pictures. |
