Is thks legal

Is this legal if the rules say the rear supports must attach to suspension pick up points? ie scca or formula d

also does anyone have any pics of an s&w cage in a s13, i want to see how it lays out.

Thanks for your help.

formula d, i think it has to attach to the ACTUAL tower not onto a bar attached to the tower.

This might help

Start on page 25 for the Roll Cage Specs

From my understanding all F/D cages need to be welded to the shock tower

Formula d never mentions shock towers in the mounting the rear braces it just says frame.

In a uni-body the shock towers are an extension of the frame

a lot of cars actually failed tech inspection at formula d in long beach this year because the cages were built that way.

Also mentions plates so that izzys cage isn't legal. Attaching it to tue strut towwe bar used to be legal but now the rules are followed to the word basically so it has to attach to the chassis. S13 shock tower is the easiest.

Yes, there is a lot of out rage on the constant ule changes and vagueness with FD.

No modified fire walls... Yet look at Faust's Scion. Safety specs in FD also don't seem to be in alignment with comparable racing series.

You could try heading to the event and asking one of the organizers, or if the organizers know somebody who could let you know for sure. Or maybe email them with a pic and ask them what they think.

When I did my cage, I went to the floorboard about 2-3 inches up from the rear bumper support bolt brackets directly above the "frame rails". which is allowed by formulaD and XDC

of course, Faust's Scion is Legal, They are one of the big company sponsored team that pour big money to FD. How can they say it's illegal, unheard of!

Fousts SCION is not legal. The rule changes were so close to the start of last season that cars already built got grandfathered in under the old rules and given a year to fix the problems. There are a couple of cars that wont be coming back next year because they arent legal under the new rules.
