KA24DE Timing Chain Questions
It's been a long time since I've been on here, but I'm doing a KA swap into a 1970 Datsun Roadster and I need some wisdom.
I'm replacing the head gasket on a KA24DE and I might have put myself in a pickle. I set the engine to TDC and I marked the upper chain with the dimples in the 2 cam sprockets before taking them off. However, I failed to mark anything on the lower chain before taking it off the idler sprocket. My question is, am I screwed and need to take off the front cover and line everything up with the silver chain links and dimples or do I just need to make sure the idle sprocket dimple is in the position shown in the attached pictures? Thanks so much in advance, Matt |
