Shifter Alignment Problem
So I noticed the shifter was oddly too forward towards the passenger side when I got my car back from the shop. Any suggestions and/or advices on what could be wrong before I attempt to fix it? My mounts are all fairly new, and I?ve checked the cross member is facing the right way.
I read up a lot of forum posts about cross member, transmission mount, engine mounts being placed backward or flipped on accident. Though I feel like the thread always dies and no resolution is posted. If anyone has a similar experience, please guide me 😓. The shop is definitely more than happy to help me out, but I just don't to drive a two hour round trip and leave my car there for another week or whatever. Kinda had it gone for months now, just miss driving it. Photo is attached in imgur https://imgur.com/hQKYiSA |

Stock or aftermarket engine and trans mounts?
Stock mounts are asymmetrical and this can happen if you reverse them Or if you get aftermarket mounts that [i]are/i] symmetrical. Sometimes it can take some fiddling. The stock holes in the crossmember are slotted for a reason Also, lord knows these cars have been modified again and again over the years... S13 and S14 KA engine mount brackets are different.. the flex of the mounts can often take up the difference but if not, you could end up with wonky angling. |
