There are more then 10+ stations in la and more in OC. It is just a matter of planning ahead and have a back up if needed

I just don't want to get caught, say somewhere in LA or IE then have to call a friend to bail me out bc there's no E85 around. Granted one outside my door, with the heightened fuel demand of e85 I could be empty before I even knew it.

Benefits > drawbacks.

Although, the best thing to do is buy yourself a ethanol sensor (from any GM or Ford Flexfuel truck made in the last 10 years) and a standalone that will adjust your fuel/timing tables vs the freq input of the ethanol sensor - or if you need an analog value, use Zeitronix's ECA. Then you can throw pump gas in it if you need to, and you get a fuel temp sensor (for varying fuel density with temp/etc) in the mix for free.

And of course, if you need help with any of that, we're here

I was looking at that option as well but I have to hold off until I get a standalone. Looking at the BS3 right now because I have heard AEM EMS has a hard time differentiating when set to user defined fuel trim. I know some have made it work but heard its forever in ironing out the tuning. Have you had success running both fuels? I might just stay with 91 and meth injection for simplicity. Thanks for the info!

BS3 is old-school and overpriced. We've got the best AEM tuner around (Mitch Pederson, used to be an AEM engineer) who helps us with our AEM stuff, so I need a pretty good reason to switch away from a Series 2 for something like that. Even the EMS4 would work lol.

The Vipec V44 also does it well, the Motec M48 and up will do it (but cost an arm and a leg), ProEFI will do it well (but more expensive), etc, etc. The new AEM Infinity will do everything under the sun though, and still be less than a BS3.

I know I don't make the power most of you guys are, but yes the meth injection just seems so much more easy. I bought 5 gallons of straight methanol from a race shop in the spring, and 5 gallons of distilled water. I'm only about 1/2 way through my mix right now.

I have thought about E85 tho, but like most I don't like the idea of having to plan where/when I need to get fuel.

I was leaning toward the BS3 because for some reason alot of V8 heads like to go that route without too much experience with an EMS. I am not a tuner by any means but I loved everything about it, even just setting up odd configurations with 4 cylinders. Right now I have a pretty good deal on a Motec from a friend who owes me some favors.

Jholman05, that's exactly why I'd rather just stay pump. I can head to base Hazmat and pick that stuff up for free. We'll see what happens when the time comes though... I still have alot of work ahead of me before the car hits the road. Thanks for the advice everyone!

Ive got a good base map if youve got a hundred series ecu^

Motec for me, AEM is good for daily drivers :P. Just kidding, just wont pay for something that still has problems and over all is cheap stuff.

i love looking at this every time im in my car (m800,SDL,SLM,e888, turbo lsx drag car)

I do believe it is a 100 series, I'll have to ask him. What don't you like about the EMS? I haven't heard too many bad things about them, what have you experienced? That display does look pretty mean, do you have anymore pics of your car? setup?

believe its the bracket with the Xcessive Z32 kit. the path it takes for 2nd and 3rd are very "off"
friend has the same kit and swapped to the mazworx bracket and said it helped a lot

Even so, I feel the Z32 trans is notchy. I have the Mazworx kit and sometimes miss 3rd. However, while my car has been down, I had the trans rebuilt so I'm hoping for more positive, less sloppy shifts.

My 3rd in the T56 was bad to hit as well.. All I had to do was the "Anti-Venom" mod which is just 2 washers you put under a bolt. It pulls the detent pin awayfrom the shifter mechanism. Super smooth shifts now for 3 dollars lol.

Car sounds beastly! The washer mod is only for the T56. Its the detent pin, adding 2 13/16" copper washers under the head backs off pressure from the shifter detent spring which in turn allows smoother shifts. You can come feel mine with a B&M Ripper and it is NOTCHY. Hop into my friends 75 280z with a LS 383 and its as smooth as butter. Your girl is a true enthusiast! Just don't let her ever get into the Honda crowd lol...

ill play with the anti lag settings to see if i can get it to work on thurs at the track if not ill just use the 2step and see how she goes.

2-3 weeks ago it managed the 1.4 60 ft with only a line lock so i hope it can at least maintain if not do better now with some psi to push her out the hole

Not bad not bad. What's your setup? I also just did a 12.4 @ 110mph 1.68 60'

You're right, if you could cut .2 off I think you'd be in the 11's. That's my goal before then end of the season.
