i think you misunderstood what he called a hoax. the fact he called it the china virus and came up with operation warp speed is proof in itself that you're understanding of what he was calling a hoax is misplaced.

but words matter, especially at the start, especially in the middle. he kept downplaying the seriousness of what was going on, and his base kept believing him.

I'm sure they also believe 2020 was a stolen election and are waiting for proof to magically appear.

Why get hung up on semantics? you're content with the election results, right? You have a new leader is kind and considerate. Forget merit, its all about diversity, equity and inclusion.
